I’ve been following ye ole man and by extension Mr.Darcy for some time now , but subscribed to the channel after the genuine perceptions you blokes have for India. Most westerners perceive India to be trapped in a time warp as they left in’47, which is all twisted. It’s a beautiful place and we’ve done well for ourselves.

My introduction to the joys of two wheels was on the foot board of my Dad's Vespa in 1958, I used to stand and hold onto the handlebars, I used to feel like I was flying as we went up the steep hills in Torquay, It has been in my blood ever since. I think I would enjoy that tour you are on, I have a book callled " Bitten By The Bullet " probably one of the early tours of India on the Bullets, by a group of enthusiasts.

You will really miss the freedom of India. I love the videos. Keep up the great work. Safe riding fellas.

India is a very diverse country. There are green side, rainy side, desert side, snow and Himalayan side. Different language and different cultures based on the geography of India. Right now you are in the western Ghats, its the tropical side of India as you move down towards Kerala it will get greener. There are many Good and bad roads in India, some are really terrible. So a person from the Southern State like Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc have a different language, climate, temperature and roads than a person living in the North Himalayan states like Ladakh, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, uttrakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh where it is cold and snowy. Meanwhile in the west Rajasthan state is a dry Thar desert and on the east in Meghalaya they got rain 24*7 considered one of the wettest place on earth. Apart from that India got 2 main cluster of Islands one near Maldives called Lakshadweep islands and one near Indonesia called Andaman islands and they look similar to those countries.

@Joe90-e4r if you need any suggestions for your next visit let me know 😊. On my first trip in 91, I was told by another western visitor that I would either find it all a bit overwhelming and probably not stay very long and never return, or that I would find myself being mysteriously pulled back again and again and probably keep returning as often as possible. I would say for me it definitely been the latter. I'm currently in India enjoying Pondicherry and then heading to Kodaikanal in January. And then???.....I guess I'll find out in the new year 🙏😍

I mean yeah those places r there coz the people living there lack some understanding & with proper education which hopefully wil b included in the education in near future, these places wil change maybe 30 or 50yrs down the line to a good level but it will change. ■

@lunaluna-uc4id Conversely, the village and country people ARE very educated; in what actually matters in the world. A ‘western’ education would destroy their entire culture and beautiful way of life.

@@MrDarcy-OlMan Oh i meant the Really bad places which others like some youtubers show full of trash, pollution, etc. the people there they lack some education plus regional govt authority has almost like left them so it has become a vicious cycle of that place being in a bad state where both the people & govt components need to b improved.. I meant those places hopefully change in next 30yrs for the good , as much needed for those places coz village & countryside is generally clean & nice.. But its really good that u didn't do the same stereotype thing (coz no point in that as mentioned above) & chose to visit the beautiful places & villages instead & took an adventurous trip including off roading etc..

That looks like a very cool tour. I'm showing my ignorance here, but I've only ever seen ads for ADV tours. But this IS an adventure, isn't it? Just without noodling around on some single-track in BFE. And it does my cold black heart a little good to see happy kids.

18:16 it's actually the Mahindra Thar, named after Thar desert in Rajasthan, NW India. Mahindra had the licence to produce Willys Jeeps, that's where the design comes from. Jeep is busy suing Mahindra in every country they plan to expand, because of which the car cannot be seen outside India that much.

If you do visit Kerala, when trailing through forest regions don't ever stop. Possibility of encountering wild elephant, deers and hogs are really high. Tigers and leopards are a mild possibility too. Enjoy your visit!

Just fascinating. What a wonderful country. Thank you. Now you need to do an Alan Wicker impersonation just to complete it. Just kidding. Great content.

What a fantastic country! And a great review of the delights India has to offer. It's a place that I'm definitely putting on my bucket list. 15:30 Whilst I agree that, when coming from a country whose roads are perceived by many to be over-regulated, it's refreshing to ride in a nation that appears to have a more liberal approach to road safety, there are instances where government intervention is a necessary evil. You commented on the normality of seeing whole families, including kids on motorcycles, and that's fine until something goes wrong. Unfortunately, India has a terrible accident rate among motorcyclists, and, sadly, children are not immune. In 2022, over 50,000 riders were killed due to not wearing a helmet, and 14,000 of those were passengers. So, regulations are definitely required. Consequently, the Indian government announced draft proposals in 2022 that would require any child under four-years-old to wear both a helmet and a harness, which must be secured to the rider. In addition, there would be a maximum speed of 40kph while carrying a child under four. Whether these rules will come into force, or even be observed or policed if they are, remains to be seen. And will they actually make a difference to the stats...?

Wow..Great..All the Best and Be Safe.. Please use horn whenever you see small intersection..U might encounter unexpected entries from other sides.. Dont rush for over takes unless you have VERY clear vision from front and back.. Indian roads and traffic are not made for overspeed..Maintain limit 60 and enjoy countryside views and Ride.. Maintain lot of patience while driving in Traffic..There rules wont apply only your patience matters.. Most important, dont be at wrong place at wrong time..
