@manu ochenta is avocado from México? That's wrong. Chili peppers, sweet peppers? Perú had more variety of chiles than México. Is "Lima Bean corns" (Lima is The Capital of Perú) from México? Are you kidding me? Perú has mores variety of corne than México for example, The giant corn or The purple corn that not exist in Mexico lol. The tomates and tabaco is from Perú, The first one is from peruvian Andes, and The second one is from peruvian Amazon. Tomatoes is also from peruvian Andes. About chocolate, it is from central America, and that primitive chocolate was so sour, not like european chocolate that is delicious. Peru has The oldest culture in America, it was Caral, 5 thousand ago, contemporary with Egypt and Mesopotamia, primitive mexicans did not exist.

@@taj400 esa bestia mexicana no sabe por qué Perú tiene más de 3 mil variedades de papa. Cree que Perú es un país con una tierra y clima común a cualquier país. No sabe por qué Perú tiene más variedades de maíces y ajíes que México. Y así dicen que los mexicanos domesticaron estos productos? Vaya risa jajaja menciona la Lima Bean, seguramente tmb cree que es un producto originario de México. Además tampoco sabe que la papa salvo al mundo en tiempos de crisis (tú mexicano, si no lo sabías, investiga), y otros productos peruanos como la quinua, maca, sacha inchi, cañihua, etc, son considerados en todo el mundo como los super alimentos, no por algo la quinua (quinoa como lo conocen por el inglés) es base en la dieta de los astronautas. Pero bueno, el tipo no es peruano, qué va a saber de Perú, pero como mexicano sí cree tener el derecho de inventar e intentar juzgar con su ignorancia lo que él considera la tradición gastronómica peruana.

wow this was beautifuly made, as a 27 year old peruvian guy who has lived in the richest and the poorest districts of lima (life does that) and has never left perú, I must say you captured really well what lima is and means, great choice of music and settings.

This to me is the video that depict best accurately my city. From the music, through the pace and the accurate comments. What truly got me in the end was the comment saying that classes and cultures collided in the city, and that is something more real than anything else. That symbiosis, that explosion after the clash is what creates that rich environment, you see them mixing and getting away constantly, in a compassed movement that resembles the view of the ocean moving in the coast. You either love or hate Lima, conclusion I've drawn by talking to so many tourists. You guys unveiled the reason why the ones who love Lima love it so much. And from a born and raised Limeño I can see your vision on this production representing accurately what I treasure in my heart every where I go. Thanks Nick and Walker for getting me immersed in Lima back again. It was great being back home for at least 10 minutes. Hope you guys enjoyed the city as much as Lima enjoyed having you there.

Excellent video. I am Peruvian but I have lived in the States for years and currently in Europe. I have traveled quite a bit. I have seen the most marvelous cities around the world. But still remember my country and Lima the place where my parents still live. You have put it exactly how I see it. Lima can be crazy, but that is how it is. It is raw, it is real, it is in your face, it is pretty. The place where the poor and rich cross paths every single day. I can't wait to go back and show my husband this crazy, yet interesting city.

Guinea pig is not a tradition of Lima , it is a tradition of the highlands of the people who live in the andean mounrtains and many of them migrated to Lima so they brought that side of the gastronomy of Peru. We all are peruvians with a diverse culture trying to get along trying to break race and class barriers.

Papa a la Huancaina actually is made with Peruvian yellow chili peppers not with curry. Some people use some turmeric, but you guys have to try the original one or the Gaston Acurio's recipe.
