Normal? Yes. Healthy? No. Shaming a kid for underperforming isn't okay, regardless of context. It's funny here because it's a comedy skit, but irl that teacher could get in some really serious trouble for talking to a student like that. The correct response would be to get the kid some help so that they understand that their advances are wrong and could get the teacher in a lot of trouble while reinforcing that the kid is gonna be okay. Of course, that would only be in a society where mental health is taken seriously...which is currently none on the planet.
@Theoanno74 жыл бұрын
@@himi6536 How is this a mental health issue? This kid needs a reality check not medication. Smh. This is part of the reason why society's attitude towards mental health is so warped. Bad behavior and lack of discipline does not equate to mental health issues.

Queen Lilith, thanks for saying that homie

@@himi6536 while agree that IRL shaming the kids intelligence isn't correct. The teen doesn't need mental help just b/c they're attracted to their teacher. You can be a teacher at age 21/22. If an 18 yr old hits on a 23/24 year old would you say the 18 yr old needs help? The teacher has responsibility to deny their advances and if they continue its a convo about sexual harassment and boundaries.

You should be able to look up sketch writers the same way you hear a song you like and want to know who wrote or produced it. No one ever says it may backfire what if it's a bad song. Everyone is not the same, some people are better than others, some people hear they suck and work hard to be better. Nobody is giving you a participation trophy for writing a joke. 90s Mad TV is still funnier than SNL. In living color is STILL funnier than today's SNL. Then you got funny people being directed by unfunny people, that's why everyone leaves. Sam Jay is hilarious then you put her in a room with people telling her what's funny and what's not and it doesn't work. You got that right! We aren't a monolith, yet one thing that is common among the vast majority of Black people (Black women, in particular) is that we tend to separate our business and personal lives. We don't go to work looking for friends and relationships like other women do. That's why you'll rarely see a Black woman teacher deciding to be a pedophile. She won't fuck up her money, her family or her life. Historically, Black Women have never had the luxury of doing selfish shit. We have to think about everything and every body; we think strategically. So the last thing we would do is screw somebody's child for a cheap 10 second thrill. 🙄

This was hilarious - all of Ego's lines were gold, as shown in the comments haha. Also, I have not seen anyone mention it, but this is a spoof of the A Teacher drama miniseries on Hulu, with Nick Robinson and Kate Mara. Andrew Dismukes has Robinson down haha, from the bedroom eyes to the red jacket. As I am currently watching the series, seeing SNL cover it really made me chuckle haha. Everything Ego did here is what should have happened in the show, lmao.
@ns2110theonly4 жыл бұрын
Yes! The comments here were discussing how funny it is but it seems like most of them haven’t even seen the actual show this is spoofing. Which makes this skit what it is. And although that’s a serious show this is spot on funny for the way it makes fun of A Teacher. But yes I noticed too that all these people who loved the sketch, don’t seem to have actually watched the show it’s mocking.
