A tedious video on how I bid for my line as a flight attendant

I watched your previous video from a while ago on navigating flica.. I'm not with your airline, but just wanted to say it definitely helped me... this video was a refresher course, a bit. My airline doesn't have some of the things that your company has, but it has helped me out trying to figure out some things. I'm with a regional, for a mainline airline, and I'm the only FA on the flight (100% honest I'm ok with it 😂). With my airline, we sit RAS for 7 hours and instead of relief lines, we have buildup lines. In my base, I'm middle of the road of in seniority and I have a line and I've been with my company for 10 months. I don't tend to pick up trips. I do commute into base, and I prefer to have that time away from work on my days off. For this month, I noticed that we stayed at certain cities that allow us to use our hotel rewards numbers, so I bid on that so I could start racking up more hotel points. I usually bid for lines that have more days off in between trips, more than 2 days off is my preferred.. I also avoid 1 day trips, since I have no crash pad for my base (there are none currently).

Retired here... that was interesting to see what you have to do to TRY and get a schedule you like. That's crazy!!!! You should get paid to do bidding!! That's work!!

When you said you can't get the luxurious lay overs - what locations would be deemed luxurious?

If you don’t bid do they assume you don’t want to fly that month or do they assign you any trips they want? Do you ever bid all day trips for the month where you leave from Vegas in the morning and return each evening?

If we don't bid we would get reserved. Which is not my goal. Lol! There are turn lines, but I wouldn't be particularly fond of a turn line simply because I would lose out on some per diem. And parking is a hassle at my airport. I do have a couple turn lines on my bid sheet just in case, for change of scenery, but it wouldn't be something I would do often.

@@flightattendantsteven I think you have a good system going. You're gone just long enough. You usually get to visit cool places on layovers, back home for rest and time with Buddy and Eleanor, then back at it.
