If they think of the term mother-in-law or father-in-law, or sister-in-law all these terms refer to the husband's parents or sister! The wives parents are her husband's in-laws. Basically your parents are still your parents, nothing changes in how you refer to them, they are only your in-laws if they are your spouses parents.
