I was able to get through it in a healthy way BECAUSE I am not drinking. @LHM-fj7cjКүн бұрын
@ not really, although my ex husband used to drink a lot of beer. But honestly, it’s understanding how people tick in a way that is very foreign to me, and learning so much about it in the process. It’s harder than just saying, NO! It’s just enlightened me to the complexity and the slippery slope that substances are. I’m very interested in personality types, have studied the enneagram a lot, and I love how all you guys are SO supportive of each other and all the people in the chat. I’ve shared some of the videos w my young adult kids etc. You all give so much hope and at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. We all have problems, mine just look different than yours. I follow yr channel also btw. ❤️

@@ShadesOClarity right, a lot of these channels automatically assume that if you are watching, you probably have a problem. I have posted before to clarify, that is a wrong assumption . There is much to be learned here and I appreciate the paying it forward aspect!

63 yrs. woman here. I am so proud of all of you, I can say that I have an addictive personality, literally suffered from panic attacks for 5 months 24/7, I do not know how my chest didn't brake, I couldn't talk, because I would hyperventilate. I asked God to please take me with him, everyone told me it was going to get better, I just sighted, didn't believe it, until I learned how to live with not breathing, lol, not funny but I also think that practice makes perfect and if "we" practice not drinking alcohol, it could happen, we'll become experts, pleeeease trust me, the ambulance rescue people knew me by name, ER was my second home for 5 whole months of agony day and night, it was like being in hell, I know how hard not drinking is, but I really pray to God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit to give each one of you the will power, the discipline to quit forever. If we all pray we will succeed in this, cause at the end of the day, we are very sad people a second after we have our last drink, and it gets worst when we wake up the next morning. (like I said before, please do not respond to this) no need, not my account:)❤

I watch this on the treadmill everyday and just started a new weight loss program I drank with fatty liver for years and luckily never made it to fibrosis or behind and you are saving my life everyday! I spent three years of how you were at your peak drinking and I got out just in time I’m always a bit worried so I walk daily drink 2 gallons of water a day and get 7-9 hours of sleep a night and I feel 10 years younger. I was 28 with liver enzymes over 500 and haven’t had them checked in years but once I get multiple years sober and loose 50 pounds I’ll have them rechecked maybe sooner to be safe… honestly scared for new imaging and lab results but want to know they are close to normal before I get tested again.

Any amount of time spent away from alcohol is time well spent, no matter how small! It feels so good to not have daily hangovers anymore because they totally suck!! Believe me, after age 30 your hangovers get a lot worse and take way longer to bounce back from! Also, drinking on an empty stomach is terrible for you, and I used to do that all the time. I did it because I wanted to get intoxicated faster, and because I had zero appetite most days. I couldn't hold anything down and sometimes it was a struggle just to get the alcohol down. The only way I'd even be able to eat is if I had the proper amount of booze in my system. At that point in my life I wasn't having any fun at all, I needed alcohol just to feel like a normal person. I needed it to go to sleep at night, wake myself up in the morning, to eat, to go to work, and to stop myself from going into withdrawal. Nobody needs to live through that misery! Let's finish 2024 strong and sober, everyone!! ❤

LD that vodka shooter story reminds me of the movie "Africa Queen" where Katherine Hepburn's character dumps out all of Humphrey Bogart's cases of gin. The next scene of the film shoes him clean shaven, shining the brass parts of the boat, smiling, basically EVERYTHING was better because he wasn't drinking. I so identified with that scene. Not only was my life a mess, literally and figuratively , I was scared and sad most of the time. It's been three months sober this time and life is 1000% better. Please LD fans, give sobriety a chance. You'll be glad you did.
