Amazing. At my old work, the higher the derating the better. This is Hugh info that I never heard before!!!😢😮

I watched the video again. Higher derating IS more reliable. I got it wrong. Still, very interesting result.

Dear professor, It's nice to see this thermal modeling approach! This approach is exciting!Have you published any literature on this method? Can you give some references for this method? I want to quote this method😀

No, this is an original stuff. You can cite the video, which is done these day. The way to it; Available at "link"

Dear professor, in the page 11, R=2*Rth*g, What does g stand for? How to get a value? It doesn't seem to be given in the video

Another question is whether this method, which uses thermal resistance from the hot spot to the ambiance, is applicable to thermal resistance from the hot spot to the case
@sambenyaakov
@sambenyaakov 3 ай бұрын
@@drwangjuanmao Yes but you need to know the temp of the case.

Would it be reasonable to assume that this model would be approximately correct for aluminium electrolytic capacitors if the material parameters are suitably adjusted?
@sambenyaakov
@sambenyaakov Жыл бұрын
The basic assumption of this model is large volume and relatively high thermal resistance case to ambient Also the HS to case thermal resistance is required, not given usually for electrolytic caps.

Hello Profesor, I can't find in datasheet any information about thermal resistance, how to find it ? To example i try it on B32560 but i cant find it. Any whitepaper is available online ?
@sambenyaakov
@sambenyaakov Жыл бұрын
Yes, this information is not given to all capacitors. Try to call TDK.

Dear professor, in page 10, the total Rth is 2*Rth from datasheet, but in page 20, R14 is 2.1,i.e., the total Rth is Rth from datasheet, why have this conflick?
@sambenyaakov
@sambenyaakov Жыл бұрын
You have a keen eye. In page 20 the simulation is for the full capacitor, total power and total thermal capacitance.
