Beautiful snow. Shetland are the Huskies of the Equine world! Spidey is the Prince of his Herd. Bullying Aunt Glendy! As always love our 3 boys. Pieter seems so sweet. RJ seems calmer than when a young colt. Rising Star? He's The Prince and he knows it! 😅 With training later and his personality, I think he is going to be an amazing adult!

I noticed Josh put his ears back when the colts came in. He still knows how to keep youngsters in order! If he was human I can imagine him as a retired army major. Very protective and gentlemanly with the ladies but will NOT tolerate insubordination in the ranks!

Ponies are so hardy, they're very tough... and soooo cute. 😍 My grandma used to have a horse when she was younger and when he got too old to be ridden, we didn't blanket him anymore. He was a german warmblood (Westphalian x Trakehner Mix) and grew a very VERY thick coat during his last couple of winters. It was a nightmare when he changed into his cummer coat. xD I used to stand in a sea of horse hair when I groomed him. Risey is becomming the leader of the group, that naughty boy. xD The young bachelors have grown into a trio of handsome boys. :)

Risey has become such a handsome colt! Still thrilled and happy Risey and Uniek needed each other at the same time and she accepted him and essentially gave him life! His mother gave birth but Uniek gave him the nutrition foals need to survive. It's such a beautiful story of sadness with a happy ending in which both fulfilled the needs of each other. We see more videos here of foals in the wild dying while helicopters are chasing our wild horses toward holding pens. Many foals don't make it or are separated from the mares and die of lack of nutrition and stress. It's heartbreaking because most of us want them to remain in the wild. We hear animal abuse and few good stories like yours. It's a good feeling, knowing there are people in this world who take good care of their horses as they do their families. It's not easy as it requires a lot of time every day between feeding, time out, cleaning stalls, etc. A real commitment and your love and devotion to your ponies and now the "Three Ladies" is inspirational, especially considering your nasty accident. They gave you the will and inspiration to start recuperating, knowing they depend on you. I'm sure some people wouldn't be able to maintain the daily routine while knowing healing takes months and sometimes years. It's a beautiful story of love and devotion. Please don't sell Spidey. Find him a friend unless you plan to breed him.

Rising star is turning out to be a very fine horse. I'm wondering if he is still your horse because he never moved with the others. The ponies are very lucky to be with you because a lot of them are left outside with no shelters night and day I know there coats stay dry underneath. To be outside all your life and no field shelter is sad. Well I'm happy your ponies get the best care, just look at those big fat bellies 😂 they are like barrels. It is hard to keep weight of them and have to be sparing with the grass, if not they are prone to hoof problems ,like Laminitis. I love them and had one called sonny he was a very cheeky boy. 🤪😄

Spidey was 10 months old, on April 6..... I imagine he has been weaned awhile now . .... As Yvonne is not breeding Shetlands, ( well, not yet... this lady has 101 surprises going on....) then there would have been no need to wean him around 6 months, as per the Friesians.. ... He seems to be weaned, as not rushing to nurse for a while now .

@Vanessa - sSnow isn't _blue_ anywhere. It is *white* or rather *_clear/crystalline,_* but might _appear_ to be blue, due to reflections of the sky, the camera's sensor being off, or hue/saturation colour adjustments made in editing. _Ice_ is also *clear* unless it's thicker, like on a river, lake or skating rink, where it appears white, due to it being compacted. Of course, you could add food colouring to ice cubes or crushed ice - think of "slushies," Popsicles or Mr Freeze (all sweetened, iced treats).

They, all 3, are learning to coexist... So far, doing very well, as none are injured... They need each other for now... We all saw Risy, quite agitated at being removed from the Stal without his friends.... They are not old enough yet, to be separated from each other ( in my own opinion, not knowing too much of horses) It appears they are content for the time being....

I for, one, certainly hope so, Terry... Much will need doing before that becomes possible.... He needs to, along with a buddy, be isolated from the mares, lest a very serious " mishap" should occur! I Love the ponies and my favourite is Glendy. The snow wouldn't really bother them as the Shetland Isles is treeless and of course being so northerly would get its fair share of snow. I just adore seeing Risey and RJ still having their play fights just like they did when they were still with their mums. I saw a you tube video showing 25 - yes 25- beautiful Friesians harnessed together pulling a bank of Friesland carriage! Totally amazing! 🐎🐎🐎🐎🥰🥕🥕🥕🇬🇧

In the winter, metabolisms change--even ours! Cold is more tolerable in winter. Think about it--what's shirtsleeve weather in winter, is downright cold in summer. Animals grow extra thick fuzzy coats in winter--like the ponies have. Even humans "grow" some extra layers during cold weather.

Horses often like to " play" with their fresh bedding.... It smells good, sometimes they grab a taste, also.... Which is why the crew simply dumps it into the Stal... the horses will spread it out themselves.... It's a" Horse thing".... 😉👍

Yvonne hasn’t yet shared any details about this yet Risy’s just recently turned 2 so it’ll be another year before any training starts. When she does have a plan/is ready to fill us in she will until then it’s wait and see.

We had 85 degree weather than three days later it drop to 37degrees so we had aircondition on for a few days than heat..weather is so wonky...enjoyed video found it interesting but i was just wondering how far is your stable to the other stable rising star is at?..are you related to the other stable owners? ..🐩🐕🇨🇦🇺🇸💛

@Stanley Pelcak you aren't alone. Many people have wondered the same thing. It makes sense for him to stay with the other colts for a while. That will give Yvonne to prepare for him like a pasture separate from the mares.

I am not sure if I missed a video but I am confused about the horses that moved to Stal H. I know Uniek belongs to Yvonne. Do the other belong to her as well?. I know that Rising Star is also Yvonne’s horse. Does Yvonne still work at Stal G? If this is none of my business that is okay too.

Judy, Yvonne has not been " on staff" at Stal G, in quite some time .. any " work " she may do, is completely voluntary, as her job is filming, being a Mem, etc.... ( Believe me, filming is easy... and fun... Editing, time consuming, requiring much concentration, which is why many of us have been concerned for her welfare... However, Yvonne is not a woman to " sit and knit"... She has way too much to do, wants to get done! Telling her to slow down, is probably not what she would rather hear... BUT she knows to rest.. and rest often! Am sure she has learned her limits! Are we proud of her? Most definitely! 😉👏💙

I’m sorry that I can’t put this with the original comment, but someone (a Linda?) said that Rising Star’s conformity is not good, in regards to keeping him a stallion, and the rules for the stud book. Can someone explain? Thanks!

I remember the person as well, though not their name. They were not professionals, they were just giving their subjective opinion on Risey's looks but so far if I had to give Risey one conformation flaw personally, it's his prominent wither which most likely will fill when he is an adult because tall horses have to lengthen the bones more. Also, stallions are not judged at such an early age (when they are still colts) since some breeds (including Risey's Dutch Warmblood) goes through drastic awkward stages when they are young. For a colt, you could win some competition in a beauty contest which would help strengthen the chances of being a stud in the future but that is not necessary. So Risey's future is yet undecided and how it pans out will only be foreseeable in the future. Even if Risey has the potential as a stud, it would still require several formalities, time spent and expenditures (edit: and even the slightest flaw could unable the judges to rank him which would render all the hardwork wasted). His future as a competitive horse is probably more likely to happen because you can already tell he is naturally athletic and has the pedigree for it.

It's amazing to see how high the insulation value of their coats is. The snow just stays on, it doesn't melt from their body heat - that is just wonderful! Nothing so good as real animal fur, from sheep, shetties or anyone else who is used to living in very cold climates! Het is fantastic om te zien hoe good die vachten isoleren. De sneeuw smelt niet van de warmte van hun lichaam - geweldig! Niets isoleert zo goed als de vacht van dieren die gewend zijn om in heel koud klimaat te leven!

Yes, she will recover, and sure now, with her first foal wunder, miracle in english, but it's not the only miracle: the fact she came back to life was already a miracle, and than her awesome and majestic breeding stables, her splendid friesians was another miracle. And now her first breeding foal wunder, another MIRACLE. And bauke helping her to make her dreams come true. This all will help her to recover soon, but in the meantime she has to calm down a bit. Because running a breeding stable is not so easy and needs a lot of work. Thank you so much greg to suport her so much.💖
