Darnell had ill intentions towards Brandi, no matter how many times she brushed him off, turned him down, flat out said no, I’m not interested or looking for a relationship etc. His Karma was an super-sized serving of Brandi and I’m not mad about it. Like you said, if he wasn’t so concerned about claiming her as a win, he would have noticed the lights are on in the mall, but nobody shopping cuz the clothes are out of style. People like Brandi exist more than you realize as sad as it is, treat people with respect and kindness and you end up with a gun pointed at your dick or a brick in your windshield lol.

I always felt bad for Brandy in this film cause she was a abused woman who husband also cheated on her, and Darnell in a way was very predatorial towards her and as soon as he got what he wanted just completly cut her off. He was the one with the hole in his heart.

"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" was definitely the theme of this movie. I had zero empathy for him because she turned him down numerous times and he saw it as some sort of game he needed to win. He ended up meeting his match and it all could've been avoided had he LEFT HER ALONE the first time she said no. She was definitely batshit crazy though 🤣

Darnell was wrong to string Brandi along the way that he did. He should have listened to her when she said that "it would not be good" for her to be hurt again. He most definitely should have listened to her when she said that she killed her husband. That right there is what is commonly referred to as a "red flag." Darnell should have paid close attention to the red flags. His mother said, "Your ways are going to catch up with you." She also said, "A night full of passion can lead into a lifetime of pain." Mama knows best! Darnell should have heeded the warnings. Warning goes before destruction and that warning is not always verbal, but life itself is that warning.

Brandi was very much a victim, but she definitely got revenge on Darnell as she rightfully should. Also, Regina's character, Mia was nuts for sticking with Darnell in the end, even after all the things he did. But, it's great Darnell learned a lesson about how to treat women, tho it's very sad that Brandi just went to jail. I really hope that she gets a lot of very-needed therapy while she's in jail to better herself once she's out. I wonder how many men made her, not just heartbroken hurt, but also 'love ain't supposed to hurt this much'/a thin line between love and hate' hurt, like could it be possible that it wasn't necessarily just lovers who hurt her in the past, but also maybe a loved one? Either way, I really like the message in the movie.

I was too young to be a Roni at the time but Rock Witcha did and still gets much play. But back to the movie, Darnell was so trash and deserved all the karma he got but per usual he still got his cake and ate it too. I also didn't know Martin wrote and directed this film.
