It took me 23 years, 2 movies and 8 episodes for me to see that Harper is really the villain! He basically thought his friends were too stupid to figure out the book. Cheated on Robin, then proposed in the middle of his best friends wedding, with NO RING just to avoid taking accountability. Like he’s truly trash. And he never learns from his past. Like he’s such a narcissist. Poor Robin didn’t deserve any of this

The reason why Lance didn't confront Mia in the first movie about her sleeping with Harper is because Lance told Harper that since he did her so wrong with all of his infidelity that if she ever did the same to him, he'd deserve it and he wouldn't even question her about it. Best Man is basically one of those movies that confirms how much men enjoy bragging about the women they have slept with, but they never consider the karma that comes with sleeping with women who are basically pawns in a much bigger game of life. Basically, this movie just shows us how messy men can be just because their egos and their determination for success can overpower their dignity and respect for others.
@anthonyanderson9303 Жыл бұрын
See while that's true, it also shows how mess women can make shit too. That was the whole point of the Jordan character. She instigated all this shit and on top of that tried sleeping with a man knowing he had a girl/fiance and didn't even care.

Harper ,Lance ,& Mia was equally as wrong Lance constantly cheated on Mia and She got fed up with it to the point that she had to sleep with the one of his best friends when she should have just left the relationship and got with another man who was going to treat her right .. Harper was trifling because Mia and Lance were both coming to him about their relationship.. he should have knew not to cross that line with Mia because she used him to get back at his best friend ..Harper should have known better than to do that... Jordan was trifling as well too because she knew Harper had a fiance AKA girlfriend and was still willing to have sex with him without any remorse whatsoever.. To do it to his best friend?! *chef's kiss* And that gave her the secret satisfaction to deal with Lance's ongoing cheating, knowing she already won the game, whether he knew it or not. 😹 What's good for the goose baby...cause it ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun! 😹😹😹

I agree that Q was the realest. Harper was an idiot. He had the audacity to air out his dirty laundry in a book for all the world to see then panicked about the truth coming out before the wedding. Did he really think the reaction would be different if Lance got married before reading the book? It was just stupid and arrogant to put that indiscretion in a book. But aside from his stupidity, Lance absolutely should have talked things out with Mia prior to getting married. I guess we were supposed to be touched by the fact that he still married her in spite of knowing she wasn't perfect but he was a dog too. I worked with a guy like Lance whereas he held his woman’s virginity on a pedestal while entertaining other women. Fast forward, they married now. She made a viral post about him being such a loving husband, taking on extra duties so she could go through school and become a teacher etc. I definitely got mixed feelings reading that smh

Someone Pointed Out That Lance Could've Slept With Neighbors Or Family Members Of Mia's In College Years.

Bet he did. And no matter how much I love Morris, honey lance was weird asf😂 obsessed with his girlfriend being a virgin and being untouched by anyone else but he could go stick his dick in any and everything with no problem. And the fact that he attached religion to it🤮

I think Harper thought he was the smartest one in the group and I honestly believe that he thought Lance was never going to read the book, even once it was widely published.

The thing I liked most about this movie was the Black excellence it portrayed (granted, most of the characters were very flawed - but not ratchet). Yes, there were Black strippers, but the main characters were achievers. Having said that, Black nihilism was on full display in this movie. @14:46, you killed me with the Chubb Rock!

He absolutely had no right to react like that because he had been cheating on her throughout college and she and him had broken up because of it so she was technically free to pursue, Harper didn't know that was going to happen he didn't plan to do that with her it just happened the attraction was there before lance it just wasn't strong enough to override the innocent friendship they had; when lance cheated she was devastated and she wanted to rid herself of the pain he caused her so she turned to the only person who she trust that made her feel special that was Harper; it wasn't about revenge she admitted that wasn't what she was after it was about her feeling whole again and Harper provided that; their bond was something that went way beyond anything lance and the others could understand that's why that intimate moment happened between them they both were in need of a reminder of the love they want and deserve and in that moment they found it and shared it with each other; to be brutally honest I was actually hoping that they would get together instead because they were very close and had so much in common, Bro code my foot you don't expect to be respected when you are disrespecting someone else; Lance was messing around with dozens of girls so he had no right to react the way he did because of his own stupidity for cheating on her in the 1st place, he got what he deserved, it was all those years ago, it was in the past so he should have kept it in the past and just moved on, If I was writing the story I would have wrote it where Harper was giving what he was getting back to Lance; kicking his ass left and right lecturing him on how hypocritical he is in getting all upset with him for something that happened eons ago in college when he was the one being stupid cheating on mia the way he did; she turned to someone she trusted and he was there for her while he was out busy getting his cock sucked; it wasn't planned or deliberately orchestrated against him and what happened between them was none of his goddamm business he lost that right the moment he stuck his penis in another woman, if he ended up losing her to Harper because he was the better man for her OH WELL HIS LOSS; dont be an idiot next time someone else comes along looking to give their heart to you lance my man, both Jordan and Quinton needed to keep their noses out of Harper's business that was there issue; He may have put his secret in the book and they may have been the only 2 that picked up on that hint it should have stayed that way because given Lance's behavior in the past he did not need to know or deserve to know anything!!💯🔥😁😉👍👍!

Harper is so cocky! He is a great writer - be inspired by your life but don't document it almost verbatim.

I was about 19-20 when I saw this movie. Then I took it as a refreshing take on “positive” black characters instead of the hood movies I was used to because they were educated, had money and were upwardly mobile. Now that I’m grown-grown, I still love these characters while realizing most of them were just bourgie black trash. Doughboy had more honor and principles than most of them.

I honestly feel like the REAL reason why Lance never confronted Mia about it was because it would reveal that Harper was the better man in bed lol. That man would've had a heart attack. Especially when in the second movie he choked up when he said "You chose him."

Outstanding review! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽The Best Man is one of my FAVORITE movies!!!!!!❤❤❤ ❤❤ The fact that Lance for gave Mia, due to his indiscretions and married her after he found out spoke volumes to me. In reality I don’t believe any man would still marry a woman after he found out!

She was a woman scorned, and her revenge was way deep. Still I'd say since he sees how it hurts it was best that he man up and get married. It's so strange how the view is women should just continue to take all the crap. Folks don't know how to act when we toss it right back. The characters were flawed, and more growth would've been great to see. Still even in reality there are those that will never do the work to bask within the harmony of growth. I think he wrote the book wanting to come clean deep inside. Still hiding within the masks he hadn't learned to remove. Him knowing that it could ruin not only his relationship with his best friend, but also the wedding. Sometimes the route to that trip down the aisle is a rocky one. Plus the fact she decided to try a bit of stepping out on her own is karma. Don't dish it out if you can't take it back in. Robin was the outsider. So it makes sense that as friends none of them would have issues with Jordan and Harper seeing what could've been. I mean at that point they hadn't even met Robin yet.

The best part is he beat him up about the book and sleeping with his soon to be wife and the second one is trash 🗑 and bad garbage cans and they should’ve left it alone
