How to love the World? That's easy. Poetry by Mary Oliver. Music by George Winston. Thank you both and thanks to NPR!

ahh i love mary oliver so much ❤️🥺 she said that dead poets were her best friends when she was young. just like those dead poets from her childhood, even though she has passed, her words, her voice, and the way she saw the world would always accompany the younger generation ☁️ mary oliver’s poems have accompanied me in my darkest times and though i’ve never met her in real life, she feels like a friend. this was the first time i’ve heard her voice and i actually teared up listening to this recording 🥺❤️🧚

Instinctively we know the direction of prayer, its pilgrimage to the point of arrival, even the wren knows its creator, and the daily beginning in the mystery of its Creator.

It would be nice if she took the time to make her notes into poems. These are not poems- or at least not very good ones. They have no song or magic. In so far as they sound like all the rest of the dull prattle that is called poetry today.
