When you read that part about a ship never dying twice I couldnt' but instinctively say "wow" out loud.

@@richmcgee434 how common are ships made up entirely with these nails? Do powerful families keep these in stock and build unsinkable fleets? is the folklore even literal truth or just a scam perpetuated by salvagers? Maybe half-true and there is some high-level ritual involved in making these undead ships?

@@richmcgee434 Hey, I like your idea for cursed ships : P It can be used even for settings other than this.

@@richmcgee434 yea, I'm running a sci-fi campaign in which there are no curses or magic, but superstition is alive and well and this certainly could be part of the spacer's folklore.

@@richmcgee434 oh yea. Ship AI gone rogue is a classic translation of the "ghost ship" for sci-fi. The same take is done in George R. R. Martin's Nightflyers. Interestingly my players are already building their ship with part of the processors of a deceased robot crewmate that was unstable to say the least so all of this could easily come true soon enough : P

@@richmcgee434 I've had an idea for an all-aquatic campaign (that is, the PCs are all of amphibious races (merfolk and the like)), adventuring predominantly underwater. This idea sounds like a fascinating bit of salvage work. The PCs either being hired to remove the nails from a recent shipwreck, or being offered a cut of the profits by professional carpenter-salvager merfolk, in return for defending them from danger.

This series of zines is amazing, I’ve been running a campaign in the islands for almost 6 months and I’ve barely scratched the surface - looks like I need to pick up a few more (I have up to #6) the art is evocative and the writing style is so inspiring. Thanks for covering stuff like this!

I live in Indonesia, and these are the best and most authentic RPG supplements I've ever seen about the region.

I bought all of the zines and they arrived on Tuesday! They are immaculate, absolutely recommend! I plan on running a campaign using these, Hot Spring Island, and Yoon-Suin. I believe the flavor will blend in quite well 🙂

I don't know whether or not you like to keep your links up to date in your video descriptions, but with the falling out this year between Zedeck Siew and Munkao, it seems neither print nor PDF versions of the Thousand Thousand Island zines are being sold on their website any longer. PDFs still appear to be available on itch, however.
