A timeline of 10 years of emergency management assurance

In July 2024 IGEM recognises 10-years’ contribution to improving Victoria’s emergency management arrangements.
Over the 10-year span since 1 July 2014, our activities have included developing and maintaining the Assurance Framework for Emergency Management, a range of specific, system-wide and thematic reviews, and a significant program of implementation and performance monitoring.
Our work has focused on different aspects of emergency management.
It has supported incremental improvements and some significant reform across Victoria’s emergency management sector, reflecting on the effectiveness of responses to incidents as well as the ongoing work to strengthen preparedness, policy, and planning.
