For the challenges, it says "Success is achieved if the roll ON ANY DIE equals or exceeds the difficulty class...". I take that to mean you take the highest result. So Brother Lactarius rolled a 6, not a 7 to persuade the guard. This is similar to Powered by the Apocalypse systems. This also makes me wonder if the combat isn't supposed to work the same way, although the wording on the card for combat isn't as obvious.
@WallyDM Жыл бұрын
Oh snap. You are 100% correct, I totally misinterpreted how it works with 2d6. Yep, you are supposed to roll and take the highest of the rolls, not the sum of them. Thank you!

Glad you liked it! If you pick it up, be sure to read the PINNED comment. I was incorrect in explaining how the 2d6 results are interpreted. Supposed to roll two and take the highest, not add for a total. I totally missed that. lol. Thank you for watching. Cheers!

This was the minimalist RPG I've been looking for, for literal years. I took a chance and it paid off in a big way. Love this product. My quick and dirty hack is to use HD = HP for monsters, now you have the entirety of the OSR at your finger tips for adversaries.
@WallyDM4 ай бұрын
Glad I could help point you to the Tinny Dungeons. It really is a cool little system. By the way, did you watch my Tiny RPG UPDATE video? It corrects an error that I made with regards to rolling 2d6. Be sure to give it a watch for a rules clarification. Also, the HD = HP is GENIUS! That is an amazing idea and I'm gonna use it, lol. Cheers!

I was browsing etsy last few weeks and saw this on the store and was curious what is inside this feels like light dnd and it's ok for dnd players especially for kids to play. In my honest opinion this small dnd kit feels overpriced ($50+ Sgd) some of the cards have the free map asset and the character portrait doesn't match the vibe, one is a empty blank on a background and the other have a colourful background
@WallyDM Жыл бұрын
It is a bit pricy, but where this item really shines is as a neat-o gift idea. The kind of item you might not buy for yourself, but are excited to buy for someone (or receive) as a gift. And, I didn't notice the art, I'll have to go back and check it out. Thank you for pointing things out Isa, Cheers! 🙂

That's an understatement. The retail on the material costs of the product should be under $5 (US), so pricing at $33 is outrageous. A1 $10 or 12, it would be reasonable with a good profit margin. It looks kind of cool, but there are so many better options at that pricing.

1 thing I don't get about such games. Didn't mobile apps made these obsolete? At the very least for single player games, your phone can contain such game and more, without you having to carry print or purchase anything physical.
@WallyDMАй бұрын
lots of folks still like physical "things" you can buy to use and/or collect. Same reason video games still sell a physical cartridge and why books are still printed and not just PDF.
@ObsidianKnight9011 ай бұрын
45$ CAD for this is way too expensive. Adorablins is 16$ CAD and has more components, then there are comparable ultra tiny dungeon crawlers like Tin Helm / Tin Realm and Deck Box Dungeons which cost quite a bit less, or the somewhat larger dungeon crawler adventure games like Tiny Epic Dungeons and One Deck Dungeon that are still usually cheaper. I think the upcoming Gloomhaven: Buttons and Bugs will be quite a bit cheaper as well. The layout of the character cards also need a lot of work; too much blank space and vague character mechanics. Overall it's an interesting idea but there are so many other things I'd recommend over this.
