Hey folks, shortest video I've ever posted on here😀!
Just wanted to say hello and give an update. I've been working for a while now on setting up a side channel about ASMR. The plan is to use a new channel to explore and share a lot of 'different' sounds that I'm interested in, sounds that don't really fit into this channel (which is focused almost entirely on synthesizer tutorials and music). I want it to be about interesting sights and physical sounds made using various solids, liquids, tools, etc. - all captured on a wide variety of recorders and microphones - condensor mics, dynamic mics, contact mics, emf coils, DIY mics, and more.
Now, if you're wondering "why this?" Well, in many ways it's a lot more connected to my actual area of training and expertise (physics), and so this is a way to bring more of that personal background into the videos that I make. If you're wondering "why ASMR?" specifically? Well, I watch a lot of ASMR videos on KZbin and really admire many of the content creators, but the biggest reason is that I like the thought of making videos that people will find relaxing and/or stress-reducing. Anyway, that's the work in progress (developing content ideas, learning more about various mics and recorders, etc.).
But, I'll be back doing synth tutorials too, once I've launched the side channel. My Volca Sample 2 recently got delivered. I want to do a granular synthesis video about that, another video about the Model:Samples, show the basics of Strega, go into some depth about ByteBeat music, talk about Norns, and more. So, please do stick around for all of that. Apologies for the long gap, but synth tutorial videos take quite a bit of time and effort, so this side channel project has also been a break of sorts from that. Hope you are all doing well. - Nim
