If you feel like Frieda McFadden’s writing starts to get generic and relies on the same tricks and twists you have to read her little novella “the widows husband secret” or whatever it’s called lol I recommend the audiobook it’s only like two hours long and it’s basically two hours of her making fun of her own writing. The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous and pretty funny.

I turned 19 this year, which is like. Barely an adult, aka the age of every FMC ever. And I read a book with an FMC who was 16 and every time she had an even slightly sexual interaction I felt so uncomfortable. I just don’t understand wanting to read a romance book about 17 year olds.

God, every Freida McFadden book I've read was terrible. The Boyfriend is where I drew the line and had to DNF. Predictable, juvenile writing, nonsensical characters. Ugh. Her book Never Lie was also equally infuriating for me.
