Bought the product and applied it to my tires 2 weeks ago and drove my car everyday (including on 3 rainy Montreal days). The product is more expensive then most but definitely lasts longer (usually my tire shine last no longer then 5 days). However I can say that I already notice a difference on the shine of two weeks ago and how my tires look right now. To say that this product will last 6 to 12 months is completely impossible unless you have your car in an indoor garage and only dry it in favorable conditions.

Well you sold an Optimum product to me with this video, ordered some of this yesterday. This is my first Optimum product purchase. I really like the look this product put on your tires, plus if the durability is as good as the claims made, it's a no-braner for the price.

@@PanTheOrganizer Got my tires all cleaned up yesterday. Gave them until today to dry and applied the Optimum Tire Protection & Coating to the tires. Everything Mr. Lacroix said is spot on. A little goes a long way, it's not too matte or too glossy with one coat and you will be tossing the applicator in the trash when done. One thing I wish he would have pointed out, if you have an area that looks a little foamy, get it knocked down. Do not expect it to evaporate as it just doesn't and will leave a white spot from the thickness of the product where the foam is. It really does look great and if it looks this good in 2 months I'll be happy. There is so much product left in the bottle I could go 2 years easily with one bottle for my Porsche. No mention on the bottle of an expiration date, do you know what it is once the bottle has been opened?

I wonder how literal Yvan was being when he said that applying it to the inside of the tire would help preserve it. I'd love to see some testing on that. The detail shop I run is part of a very nice service center and many of our customers have vehicles that are only driven seasonally so the tires begin to fail and crack with 70%+ tread left on them. Maybe this product could be an option for those customers who would have no problem paying to have it applied to the inside of the tire to increase the tires lifespan. Possible win/win upsell opportunity? 🤔 🤯

I am a Detailer in SouthFl & Permagloss advertised this same type of 6-12 month long guarantee for its product. I went there, heard the sales pitch, offered discount for bulk order, & received 2 samples before I left. I applied one to my work van & another to my clients BMW. My shine wore off in 2 weeks & my clients was gone too next time I cleaned the car 3-4 weeks later. I will stick to my Griots Black Shine aerosol, best product with long lasting shine & no sling. I can’t say the same for Griots black shine gel which slings really bad & liquid form slings less but not a great even shine. Aerosol has the best coverage but spray close because tip is wide & oversprays on fender wells or rim.

I would think that the shine would be adjusted based on the amount of product used, I would apply it in the same fashion that anyone would apply any other tire dressing, the key here is to ensure that the tire is properly cleaned and dry to the touch. Sadly no, you can hardly find their stuff around here. There's one reseller that actually has the Optium Shampoo, No Rinse and No Rinse with Carnauba here in Germany, even for a good price; but sadly that's it. I really wish they would contact a reseller around here.

I've been reading a lot of the reviews on Amazon about this product and although I haven't used it yet I'm getting the impression that the key is PREP! if you take the time to prepare the tire and make sure it's COMPLETELY dry, this will last a long time.
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Correct. For any tire coating, prep is key. Including for the new long lasting CarPro BlackOut tire coating I tested here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKm7ZKqvn52njtE

It sounds like a great product. I live on a farm and have to contend with dirt roads. I’ve found that the oil based dressings work best in that application. The water based products tend to attract and show the dust. Pan, do you know of anyone who has applied it to an off road vehicle and can test it for its dirt attraction and visibility properties?
@PanTheOrganizer5 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure Yvan could comment on this as he has it installed on the Opti-Coat jeep.

Could you use a sponge or different applicator for the tires? Or it recommended to use microfiber

This may be a dumb question and forgive me if so, but how do water based products resist things like rain and car washes and potentially last 6-12 months? If it's water based, how does the water not strip it off the surface when coming into contact? That just doesn't make sense in my mind.
@PanTheOrganizer5 жыл бұрын
It’s water “based” but there are other chemicals in there too that ensure protection and durability.

Not a fan of applying tire dressing with a microfiber towel. Wouldn't it be easier to use a microfiber applicator pad or something similar?
@0311Ares4 жыл бұрын
Why did he state that he would have to throw the rag away after? Could I just save that piece of rag and use it just as and applicator for the optimum tire shine? And lastly, could I use a fine mist spray bottle and just wipe the excess off with a rag instead of using a squirt bottle like the one he's using.
@manvsdetails4 жыл бұрын
The solution hardens once dries, therefore the rag would lose its usefulness, therefore becoming garbage

Hey Pan, I have a question for either you or Yvan. I applied it to my all seasons tires on the Mustang and its somewhat flaking off. Prep was thorough - Auto Fanatic Wheel Foam, Super Clean 3x... I think I may have not waited long enough between coats OR applied it too heavy (or both). I also applied it to my summer tires on the inside and 2 coats on the outside. They have been looking really good, sitting on a tire dolly until I put them on today. I drove 6 miles to my office and it started the same flaking. What did I probably do wrong? Could it also be that they've been sitting coated on a tire dolly for a month and now that I put them on the car, the weight of the car on the side wall is causing it? Thanx!
