Quick follow-up question for one I asked recently... Yesterday, I applied this to my windshield and I was just wondering are stripping shampoos harmful in any way to this coating? I doubt it, I only ask because I know Soft99 alls sells that maintenance spray. Also, do I need their spray? or can I clean it with Invisible Glass or some other automotive shampoo... PS. Thanks for being so helpful to all of us and helping with our questions! It is very greatly appreciated! :)

Hi Pan, I just take reception of my new car. I see no defects on it, can I just wash it and do a decontamination for the ceramic coating?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Күн бұрын
You might think it has no defects, but that’s almost impossible. Take an inspection light to it and you’ll see tons of flaws. 99% of new cars aren’t new. A new car is never new until it's properly detailed. - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example. - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat. If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well. I explain all of this in this popular video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jSqqV5Ypp2g8U So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers: RS6 Avant Performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gma2gmOQfq92oJIsi=mcQiMs9HBLlaqjGK Mercedes S 580: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKLCpZmZrNesjKssi=whord2_UEFSg28UW Aston Martin Vantage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXzKkmavj7uHp9E Volvo XC60: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqenc3Wbo82MfKM Tesla Model Y: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naDLnKZurbVohLs Porsche 911 Carrera: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJTOmpysl6ukqZY Audi Q7: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmirdHWJi9OcsK8

Are they both safe to use on ceramic coated wheels?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Күн бұрын
Yes. But perhaps for times when you need deeper cleaning, on very dirty wheels for example, as these are still high pH products that could eventually weaken a coating if your coating doesn’t have the best chemical resistance. The point of having coated wheels is to make cleaning easier. Usually, just regular car soap will do. You can use iron removers every month or every other month to remove brake dust. But for regular weekly washes, you won’t need high pH wheel cleaners.

Was wondering if you have PPF on your car? If not what is protecting the paint? Is PPF necessary?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Күн бұрын
I have a ceramic coating on my car. I am just not a fan of the look or feel or PPF. Plus, as I get a brand new car every three years, and do low yearly mileage, scratches and stone chips are of no concern to me. My cars are always pristine when I bring them back to the dealership. But for people who keep their cars for many years, and want the ultimate scratch and rock chip protection, PPF is the only solution. I would still recommend a ceramic coating on top of the PPF, for the best of both worlds.

This is totally normal and 99% of the new cars of any manufacturer are all loke this or worse. A new car is never new until it’s properly detailed. Plus I knew we were going to detail it so it was of zero concern to me. The most important thing was that there were no damages or dents/dings on the paint when I took delivery. I have a ceramic coated (white) car I like to take care of :D I like the Wet Coat, but lately been looking into ceramic detailer. If we also throw Bathe+ into the mix; Are they complementing eachother, or any of them rendered redundant?
@PanTheOrganizer

You can't compare Bathe+ to CarPro Reset. Bathe+ is a shampoo infused with ceramic protection. Reset is just a pure shampoo. Its direct competitor is the regular Gyeon Bathe (not Bathe+). I prefer Reset for maintenance of coated vehicles. It's my favourite soap. I prefer shampoos with no protection in them, as I like to control which topper I apply at the end of the maintenance wash process. But if you like a soap that also has protection, so you do two steps in one (cleaning and adding a topper), then Gyeon Bathe+ used once a month is also a great option. Welcome to my channel. @@PanTheOrganizer Truly appreciate the answer! It is so cool to see you take your time to answer all these questions. I have been looking in every now and then, though mostly when it is prime season to make the car look extra juicy: Summer. I live in the north of Norway, so we have just changed to summer tyres. There is still loads of snow in school yards etc :D So, you'd say sneaking in some extra SiO2 is not too important? Alternatively, what other topper would be nice? (I guess I could look through your videos for that answer :p) I am familiar with Gyeon WetCoat, but always on the lookout for improvements. At the moment I have been using a shampoo from Maguiars (NXT something), but the more I have read into it (as I do like the smell), it might be on the too acidic side of things, and might not help my ceramic coating at all, hence why I am trying to find out how to truly support the ceramic coating as best as possible. Which has lead me to see in your videos and you seem to consistently praise CarPro Reset, which I have now put in the orderlist. Just trying to figure out what to complement the order with to give my coating some support :)

@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Күн бұрын
There is only one way to ensure 100% removal of any previous coating: machine polishing. You need the mechanical abrasion from the compounding polish and pad to remove any previous protection. So you would use a strip soap, then iron remover, then clay the surface, then machine polish to your desired level of paint correction, then IPA wipe (if you're not using the DIY Gold Standard Polish) and then use the APP, and then apply the C6 Ceramics coating.

So is this considered a pro level coating? The cost leads me to believe so.

Pan, I currently have TRC Minx Royale 400gsm that I thought would be good for my quick detailers due to its plushness. However, it doesn’t glide very well with moisture. What other towel would you recommend for applying product onto dry surfaces? Thanks
