yessss, love me some random all to start the weekend. on a sidenote, as a 3d artist and game modder it bothers me how rockstar is unable to give dust/snow particles and taillights different alpha priorities. how, when driving, the dust cloud is infront of the taillight glass, instead of behind it, so you see the taillights through the dust...bothers me to no end.

You don't. It's up to the host to decide whether they want to host a random race. The only way to know is just before you enter the grid, you hear a sound effect. That'll tell you it's a random race. Or the host will say _This is a random XX_ or something along those lines.

Broughy, I have a question for you. Is it possible to have slipstream in fivem races and why is it not included. I remember you saying slipstream and catchup made races not competitive but how does slipstream not make it competitive when drafting is an integral part of formula one and nascar?

Slipstreams in gta v are way too op and can cause crashes in corners cause you go way to fast

Adding to what was said, slipstream in GTA is very analog, meaning its either on fully (which is way too powerful) or off completely. The only way to make at least semi-realistic slipstream is through custom coding. However the racing right now is close - and at times messy enough - that custom slipstream will cause more messes than without it.

Like the other person said, the slipstream mechanic is incredibly powerful in GTA5. Like, it's so stupidly arcade that it's too much even for GTA's brand of racing. It is also hard-coded into the engine as far as we can tell, and as such we can't tune it, so we've decided that it's not something we're going to use.

While my decision to bin him was too hasty, we insta-bin on incidents that have to do with crash recovery (poor rejoins, etc), so a warning was never on the cards.

@@Conguy97 the idea is that everyone recovering from a crash generally has the time to ensure that they aren't causing further incidents doing so. So if they rejoin badly or respawn on top of someone, they're clearly not paying attention and are a hazard that needs to be removed from the race.

There are 3 platforms, with 3 separate 90 minute races per platform. Trust me, 30-40 minute videos are about as short as it gets to condense 9 90 minute races into. It’s an average of 3-5 minutes per race
