what i love about ATL airport is the rental car area. Most efficient I've ever seen. So easy to get to and after checking in, so easy to get a car and drive out. the tram to the car rental, convention center & hotels are so easy too. and the underground concourse tram is a easy to use too. love it. I was in ATL in 2009 on layover and it was going through some construction. That has paid off - it's so nice.

I got over a million miles on Delta, been through Atlanta more times then I can count. I miss the old Darth Vadar voice on the train. I think when I die and go to heaven I will go through Atlanta.

I've only been at this airport twice during layovers between flights and it is CROWDED LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS! I've still yet to leave this airport and head to Atlanta but it's on my bucket list, for sure! PS I do love the train between terminals. Very fast and efficient.

TheBoredVlogs You will love the city of Atlanta... lots of Southern hospitality, civil war & civil rights history museums, worlds largest aquarium, Coca Cola headquarters and tour, and lots of night clubs, bars, and southern fried chicken and fish places to eat. Oh yeah and home to the highest number of strip clubs in the United States

So many good memories from this airport. I've had like 10 layovers in ATL over the course of meeting my LDR boyfriend. The last phone call we had before seeing each other in person was in this airport. Silly, I know.

Hartsfield Jackson really does feel like a city within a city. Although many of those passengers will never step foot into the city of Atlanta as they're just passing through & connecting flights.

I lived in line of the Atlanta runways nearly my entire life. On clear nights, you can see planes lined up 6-8 deep. Incredible. Would sit out front and plane spot for hours.

J P My home is in Covington, and if the aircraft are landing eastbound on the 27’s, 26’s, or 28, you can see them bank for final almost overhead. I think they turn for final over Conyers. As a matter of fact whenever I’m flying home from Syracuse, NY, I can actually see Covington Square right before we turn towards the airport.

I would love to hear the Chime in this Airport. I know they have an airport chime like in European Airports at this Airport, along with Miami Airport. I've heard the chime at ATL, but no one has recorded it. It sounds like, "Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding. Atlanta is in Eastern Time Zone" It starts from low pitched to high pitched. If I go through Atlanta in several months, I may try to film it if possible. It goes off at random times, so u don't know when it will play. Miami has a chime too, sounds exactly like the chime at Tel Aviv Airport. I think MIA and ATL are the only 2 airports I have ever seen in America with chimes. I wonder if other big airports like O'Hare and LAX have them too. Or even JFK.

If not, how do I know which Terminal to go to? What if I get lost? Do you go to baggage claim even if it's just a connecting flight or will they automatically just send it to my final destination?

Hi Caitlin, I would look into Delta's unaccompanied minor program (if you're flying with them). Other airlines have programs like this too. Reach out to the airline and they will be able to help you out--you can find info about Delta's program at www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/worldwide-sales/south-africa/umnr-rules.html .
