Where is the best place to go in Macedonia? Bitola looks good to me because its near the border and I'd like to see Albania as well and to greece, and also the roman ruins as I love ancient history. Where else should I consider?

@@Anticommunism99 "Togarmah was linked to medieval Turkic peoples by Jewish-Khazar traditions. The Khazar ruler Joseph ben Aaron (c. 960) writes in his letters: "You ask us also in your epistle: "Of what people, of what family, and of what tribe are you?" Know that we are descended from Japhet, through his son Togarmah. I have found in the genealogical books of my ancestors that Togarmah had ten sons." He then goes on to enumerate ten names that can be identified as contemporary tribes living near the Black and Caspian Seas:[5][6] "Ujur" (Uyghur), "Tauris" (Tauri), "Avar" (Avar), "Uguz" (Oghuz), "Bizal", "Tarna", "Chazar" (Khazar), "Janur", "Bulgar" (Bulgar) and "Sawir"." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Togarmah You don't even know the origin of the name of your country, and you claim to know something about history? 🤣🤣🤣 Your own name - Борислав - says that you are Slavic, but you defend the false history invented by the Khazarian invaders that conquered the Thracians (Rasians/Rašani/Slavs.) Embarrassing.

Bitola was called the consul city in the past 2 centuries and the Turks second diplomatic city after Solun or Thessaloniki in the Balkans. It is a beautiful city with amazing people and nightlife but a shadow of Its past glory. Hope you had an amazing time in Macedonia. You are welcomed here anytime. Cheers.

I so love your videos. They make the viewer feel like they are there and it is not all glossed over like an advertisement. And if things go wrong - like a walk which goes nowhere - you film it which is great because it is just the sort of thing tourists encounter - so the viewer can relate to it. I am always fascinated by your accommodation and food😄. You are very non-judgmental and respectful wherever you go. I just hope you get to enjoy things without the filming too. Best wishes.

Yugoslavia was the founder of the unaligned movement after WW2 which was joined by many other nations of the world. Communist, but not aligned with the rest of the communist world, but rather at odds with them. Tito took donations from both the west and the east after WW2, which helped him rebuild the country's economy, which allowed for everyone to have everything they need, and more, except for you couldn't question the authority of the communists. Stalin sent dozens of assassins to take out Tito, each and every one of them failing, and then Tito sent a letter to Stalin in which he said that if he sent an assassins to kill Stalin, he wouldn't need to send another one. People loved him because there was no poverty, shortage of stuff, there was free education, medical care, free vacations for everyone, regardless of ethnicity and religion, thus trying to replace all those ethnicities with one, yugoslav.

Now about ideological freedoms - that's also arguable. We had "Hair" theatrical performances in "Atelier 212" since 1969, "Waiting for Godot" since 1956, "Master and Margarita" theatrical performances and the movie in '60 -'70, many listening to Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy etc. since '60-'70, Punk scene in late '70, etc. Of course that none of it passed smoothly, there were artists jailed for "Plastic Jesus" or "The Mystery of Organism" etc. What about Assange today, in democratic West? Or a lawsuit against Josipa Lisac, for singing a jazz version of national anthem on presidential inauguration 8 months ago, in progressive Croatia?

@D S I would take Cuba - any time, thanks : )) and would imagine from there how your rhetoric pathos persuades Greeks that Alexander the Great was not spreading Greek culture, but North Macedonian. For now, it seems that everyone is happy with bad performances of folk music all over EX-YU, no interest in poetry. How is that a progress, or multitude of ideas?

The truth is that I've never been to Thessaloniki, but I've been hitchhiking through North Macedonia as a teenager, back in 1980 and it is every bit as beautiful as I remember. Yeah, this is great part of the world for living but economies were never strong here as in western Europe, so people are constantly moving to the west. But even if everyone returned this would still not be overpopulated part of the world, there's space for at least 3 times more. And the insane thing is there's plenty of fertile land but since the fall of socialism degree of cultivation has been going down all the time cause now it is cheaper to import mass produced food from the outside than produce your own, it's globalization insanity

Bitola was the most european pro west city in the balkan Otoman time. Cultural, military , and administrative center. But was the mOst bombarded city in the world in WW1! And many of the beautiful buildings and old neo classic architecture was forever lost. No matter of that ..still is the most beautiful town in Macedonia

@@rocco... well bitola was first formed from Philip! The Alexander the Great father ! in just 10 minutes from my home pass the most famous Roman road Via Ignatia! Next to Heraclea Linkestis! Road who connected Rome with Minor Asia . Road used from Roman Legions and crussaders. Also on the north site we have medieval churches from 9 century! Almost all medieval churches in town more than 50! were crushed from the Otomans for revenge! Because Bitola was the biggest monsk city ! the only city that put up fierce resistance against the Turks! In 1830 became the major war and administrative city ! With more than 15 international consuls! The pro west culture and trends was huge in my town ! Thats why architecture is so beautiful for this part of the 🌎. But like i said..the war front in ww1 passed tro yhe city. More than 500 thousands bombs were dropped! The most devastated city in the world, together with Verden from 🇫🇷! 80% of the famous architecture, beautiful buildings were lost forever. With just 20% of the preserved architecture. .bitola is still number 1 city in Macedonia. Another interesting think is that Bitola was home on many Jews from Spain and Portugal . They came here in 1500 year. They, put huge culural impact in my town. Especially with their Spanish and Portuguese culture..putting another color in the city. They were completely all deported in ww2 in Treblinka ! All theirs homes, buildings are still empty and mistical ..they were 30% of entire population in the town. Yes, history is very interesting here

Eternal derby (Macedonian: Вечно дерби), also known as the Macedonia derby (Macedonian: Македонско дерби), is the name given to matches between the two most popular clubs from North Macedonia, the Skopje-based FK Vardar and Bitola-based FK Pelister, supported by Komiti and Čkembari respectively, with fans at times infamously engaging in hooliganism during the derby.

If you want to be technical, Greece as we know it today has its name after the ottomans left the balkan, and Helenic colture is a parallel to the latin colture of Rome. By that reasoning you don't hear Italy calling out to the world that Carthage was a Roman ethnic land. In the time of Philip II and before him the hellenic city states considered the territory of Macedon to be a barberic land because they could not understand the language of those people. Furthermore the Macedon part of today's Greek state was named by Greece in '89, because they were aware of the fate of Yugoslavia coming in the following years. My point is that Hellenic culture not Greek, should be the right term describing the time period. I still wish you have lots of fun and good time in our country. Since you are in Bitola if you have the time visit the Peshna Cave, or the town of Krushevo (the highest situated city in the Balkans), also a historical cite where the first republic was established that lasted only 10 day's before it was snuffed by the Ottomans in 1903.

Љубомир Чукниев I agree about Helenic culture, we always learned in school that it was helenic culture and there was roman culture. We all know that roman and helenic culture was much more then todays Italy and Greece.

@Љубомир Чукниев The ancient Macedonians spoke Greek just like the Athenians, the Spartans, the Thebans, the Corinthians, etc.. The writing on the ancient Macedonian remains as well as the ancient Macedonian coins is in Greek. Of course you can use the word Hellenic instead of Greek if you prefer. Even the Greeks themselves do not use the word Greek but Hellenic.
@bube4uki
@bube4uki 4 жыл бұрын
@@mn7486 we can agree to disagree, knowing from history that the hellenic city states could not stand or understand the tribes living in the region of Macedon, that's why they considered them barbarians because when they spoke with the to the hellenic tribes they sounded like "bar-bar" (nonsense) and that's how we get the term barbarians. Not one people in the balkan peninsula can trace it's own roots 500 years ago let alone 2000 years or till 500bc.
@mn7486
@mn7486 4 жыл бұрын
@Љубомир Чукниев I am sorry but it is not true that the other Hellenic city states could not understand the Macedonians. You are correct with your definition of “Barbarians” but this term was often used as an insult among Greeks, for example the Athenians calling the Spartans Barbarians during the Peloponesean war, it did not mean that the Athenians did not understand the Spartans, it was simply a derogatory insult. Aristotle himself was Macedonian, what language did he speak? He tutored the young Alexander, in which language do you think he tutored him? During Alexander’s campaign in Asia he spread the Hellenic culture and language, if the Macedonians spoke a different language then why didn’t they spread this different ‘Macedonian language’? Of course I totally agree with you that no one in the Balkans (or anywhere else) can trace his own ancestry 2000 years ago.

@@mn7486 as I said, we can agree to disagree,... Evidence of a separate dialect is carved in the Rosetta stone that was ment for Helenic Egyptian and among otters Macedon dialect. We could discuss this all day long or until the end of our lifetime, it's not fair to the video to open old and still not closed wounds. Be or feel what you consider to be true, but the truth can only be found in the middle of our own views. I welcome any type of discussion, but I'm self conscious of the person which chanel this video is posted and I think he would much appreciate commenting on time and sites that he reported and visited.
