I’ve been married for 32 years. We have had two pieces of new furniture. A recliner and when we wore that out a loveseat double recliner 🤣 that’s it. Everything else has been handled down or thrifted. Which I’m proud of. I have a cottage vibe so it’s perfect. I’m still loving your channel!

LOVED what you showed us! One of my favorite finds was a curb pickup, no money, just a lot of pushing and lifting... A small-ish, very unique, drop-leaf desk was just sitting there for me! It is now in my old-fashioned living roof off to the side of the fireplace... love it!

I love the Restore! I’ve bought furniture and fixtures for my 95 year old home. I have a 1931 bungalow, that I’ve lovingly restored. My dining room set was free, given to me by a neighbor that was moving across country. So, yes, buying and sourcing preloved, vintage, and antique pieces, gives our homes character. I just found your station and I’m so happy to see a young woman that loves old things! I’m 65, an owner of 3 cats, and many vintage and antique things. Forty years ago, my husband and I were cleaning out his mother’s garage. I found a 1921 Singer sewing machine, in the oak cabinet. It was totally black including the gold leaf. I restored that machine, the cabinet , and the gold leaf to its original beauty. It sits in my living room, a focal point of amazing beauty.

So many beautiful items you've found. I rent a house that was built in 1930 and my landlord gave me the dining table and chairs that came with the house and a side board as well. Love how old items have a history, as do old houses. They have a soul that new houses just don't have. Most of my belongings are second hand, and i love it. Would always rather have a pre loved item then a brand new one.

I love how much you love your second hand treasures! The vast majority of my home is filled with thrift finds (furnishings, definitely decor, and clothes), but my all time favourte item is a vintage Primus 2 burner camping stove that I found for $10! It's from the 60s, so it's beyond cute and works like a dream. Primus is a high end camping stove company from Sweden that is still operating today after over 130 years. My favourite inherited piece is a turn of the century vanity that my Grandfather purchased for my Grandmother at auction shortly after they were married in the 50's. It's beyond gorgeous and is now my nightstand.

Great job protecting the yarn from the cat, and the cat from the yarn. I can tell you from experience that a cat can grab yarn and swallow it in the blink of an eye, and it's an expensive surgery to deal with. I have a similar sewing/knitting thing, but yours is prettier. Mine looks like it's from the 70s and came from my grandmother. They're very useful.

He'll learn what a compliment that is as he gets older and wiser. I love the practice of treasuring things from parents and grandparents! One item that I realize I didn't mention in the video is the antique sewing machine that I use as a record player - it was one of the first pieces of antique furniture that my mom found as a young person and is one of my absolute prized possessions. So much beauty, love and history in those things ❤️

I love your style, Great video. All the furniture in my home is second hand except for mattresses, and 2 twin bed frames that I purchased for a guest room because I wasn’t finding what I wanted. (They are very high quality, but also my least favorite pieces in my home.😂) I did once own a beautiful West Elm leather couch that I had coveted for TWO years before I purchased it. Unfortunately, I moved and it didn’t work in my current house. I left it with my ex, even though I owned it before I knew him. 🤷🏼♀️ Second hand furniture is so often built much better than anything you can buy today, unless you have the budget to buy very HIGH END furniture. Plus… it’s a win for the environment.

I probably have everyone beat when it comes to being Second Hand Rose. I have a 3 bdrm house down south and everything in it is second hand other than 1 flr lamp & the mattresses. Also have an apartment up north where it's pretty much the same deal, except I once splurged on a new couch...which did NOT hold up. Now I have to pay to get rid of it! I have original art work bought at auctions and thrift stores. I rent out both properties when I am not staying in them, so the furnishings are not shabby. The quality of older furnishings are invariably better than newer. I have been doing this all my adult life. It's a game of treasure hunting. Very satisfying to know how much money you've saved. Have done so to a lesser extent with clothes and like to plant swap whenever possible.

For a hot second I saw 2.14K subscribers as 214K and was like #WellDeserved. Patience is not a virtue I have but I have no doubt you'll get there. Anyway, my favorite thrift store, especially for furniture, is Hidden Treasures. But, I live close to The Mall Of St Paul and have never been? How? About to venture over there because why not shop in almost subzero weather. :) Also, as of yesterday at the Maplewood Goodwill, it was the most delicious pink chair, circa the 1960's probably.

Been thrifting for over 33 years, so most of my house is thrifted. Up until recently almost everything my 15 year old son wore was also thrifted. Just got him an amazing leather jacket for twenty dollars. I adore all the declutter people, lol. Couple months ago got a super heavy solid oak table with pedestal legs that seats eight for $24. Scrolled edges, carved feet and I had to travel about 30 minutes to get it and she was shocked I traveled so long, um what???

Found you on a feed and happy I did. I'm 76 yes 76 and i've thrifted for most of it. Two thirds of my wardrobe is scond hand and proud of it and many house hold items including furniture are hand me downs or second hand. Just curious are you Christmas ornaments second hand? Up to a few years ago they could be purchased new up to 80-90% off. Not so much now in Mi. Thanks.

Very nice pieces and they work well together. Another channel I subscribe to; Living with LK - she does a lot of thrifting in her area of Calif. She also has beautiful pieces that she's furnished her home with. She shows renovations of her rooms, mostly on a budget and using thrifted pieces.
