I never knew that what a fact!!! ❤❤❤ He had good taste as although much developed still beautiful. Yea city gates ..Remember a couple she was older than him a taboo!! They were so in love, they ran tiny cafe like a home from home on busy market day. 1 tip for female travel is to wear nothing sleeveless kaftan over pants or leggings perfect as you fit right in and people respect you a lot more than!❤❤

Because alot of young people nowadays just want all the gimmicky videos. The type where people say 'I'm going to walk around the most dangerous part of the city' or 'how much can I get for 10 dollars a day'. They're not interested in pure travel videos.

This is just a theory of mine, but if you compare Gabriel with other travel vloggers like Bald and Bankrupt, Harald Baldr, Kurt Caz, who all have 3 million+ subscribers each. Those guys are always interacting with people, which makes for good entertainment. Gabriel for the most part, keeps to himself and just talks to the camera. Another thing with those KZbinrs, is they only post a few videos a month (if that), where as Gabriel posts videos daily, which makes his channel over saturated with videos…. This is just a theory of mine, since I’m not an expert on KZbin subscribers. 🤷‍♂️

@@jeffryan7262 hi. An interesting analogy. Always good to receive a different perspective. Firstly, in my opinion there is no comparison between Gabriel, a veteran of 32 yrs in the business, and the likes of bald @ bankrupt. I do agree those you tubers interact with more people, but dont you think its just for views? Are they normally in real life so chatty and extroverted? We dont know. Yes Gabriel keeps to himself though I dont think he is an introvert persay. Followers of Gabriels in my humble opinion are more articulate, genuinely interested in the history of each country he visits and dont go for the hyped up entertainment videos. I find Gabriel in a very different class to the others in terms of his "realness". He said he is not phased by the number of subs he has ( he has never once mentioned hey guys like and subscribe). He is confortable financially and more driven by his love of history, random wanderings around the world and different style of engaging with us through talking to his camera. It feels like taking a stroll with a good friend and genuine interactions. Thanks for your comment x

@jeffryan7262 Gabriel may have made a rod for his own back regarding posting videos daily. I know that if one doesn't appear, I'm disappointed! On the other hand, that shows I'm a faithful follower, which can't be bad. In my opinion, Gabriel's shortcoming is that he doesn't seem to have an affinity for foreign languages, something the guys you mention do have. I think that may be a reason for limited interaction with locals. Like yourself, this is just an opinion.

Sadly these days people are following the same crowds, its like they dont have their own thoughts on what they like. Eg. Someone follows bald @ bankrupt, tells his/her friend and that friend says yes yes ill follow him too! Thats why Gabriel stands out as genuine because he is not lumped together with the other same same content creators. Lol.

Agree totally he tells it how it is he inspired me so much. Hard as v limited in funds and cant negotiate hills hence costs more but do my best. Gabe is as good as it gets and not too proud to continue hostels and basic rooms. I went to Jodhpur and it doesnt get any better than that. Seem to remember negotiating a tuk tuk. And managed to climb up to fort as a v cheap guide took 5 of us and he had asthma so understood exactly, no pressure made it to top. Jodhpur stands out as 1 of finest places seen in my life, saw many many places after but that was best as was solo travel, joined smallish groups but although saw so much didnt like it anywhere near freedom of solo!!! Remember a lovely lassi at a famous little cafe within central gates with Indiwn people at my side. My accommodation was a kind of b and b and v basic and cold at night but views were amazing from rooftop and was pure magic. I long to return to India. Humble people there abd oh so kind for no money tbh as they gave me many free things like food and flowers and help when waiting for bus that never came ❤❤❤❤ Forget insta this is best ever...

18:02 There's a famous Bollywood song from 1955 called "Mera joota hai japani" in which the actor Raj Kapoor sings about how his shoes are from Japan, his pants are from England and his red cap is from Russia but his heart is Indian. It is very popular to this day in India and even in The Soviet Union countries and Eastern Europe. Looks like Gabriel re-invented the same concept except the last part.

Hello Gabriel, another amazing episode thank you. The story of the guy who met Mick Jagger is very interesting. I am copying here what I saw online about it. "Mick Jagger's coming on a culinary trip to India. The Rolling Stones' lead vocalist will be in Jodhpur between October 21-24 for the Rajasthan International Food Festival (RIFF), which is being organised at the Mehrangarh Fort. Jagger is the patron of the festival with Maharaja Gaj Singh" (The Times of India)

You almost made it to the best samosas in town at 17:26. Get back there if you can. I yelled out (from Melbourne) as you walked past, but the traffic noise drowned me out. Notice the crowds. They cook on the right side and sell on the left. The crowds stand there waiting for the next fresh batch. The deep fried chillies also worth a try. I was standing there with the family a couple of years ago and a local told me it was like their version of McDonald’s. I’ll be back to Jodhpur for the samosa’s, one of the best forts I’ve seen in India, and the town that is amazing in blue!!

With vehicles and padestrians passing through blind spots in narrow lanes from opposote directions in congested greenfield cities, overcrowding by lazy padestrians on streets and them crossing roads ar their whims, slowmoving carts (sometimes pulled by cattles and even humans), encroachment by vendors, stray animals roaming about, unruly drivers, honking at times is necessary and after a while it becomes habit even for somebody not fond of hobking, out of overarching frustration and desperation caused by getting stuck in traffic without any intervention by traffic sergeants.

Last spring I flew into Portland, Oregon, picked up my car, drove down to California and Nevada to visit family for a couple weeks, then drove back to Oregon, parked my car and caught a flight to Europe. Before that, the last time I was home in the US was for Thanksgiving last year, again for a couple weeks. Basically I head back to the US once or twice a year to visit friends and family and otherwise I'm traveling internationally for most of the year.

Always enjoy your videos. Can't remember if you have covered this on one of your back at home video walks, but what travel or health insurance do you use? I will be retiring in 2 years and plan on doing the "Slow Travel" outside the U.S. and only returning about every 6 months. Thanks & Safe Travels.

Hi Gabe, big fan. I’m a few videos behind when you were in Ladakh at the high altitude. Your smart phone probably has a feature on it that will tell you your exact altitude. If not, there are several apps you could download 🇮🇳

Obviously boys didn't comprehend what you were asking them. Yes the fruit you saw was Guava (first and third hand carts) they were ripe (yellowish white colour indicates they are ripe, otherwise it would be green). Please try some ripe Guava fruits (after carrying them to your hotel and washing them). In the middle cart, they were selling "KINNU" which is very much similar oranges, and tastes good. Outer skin is to be peeled for Kinnu, just in a way similar to Oranges. BTW, Google says Hotel Nirvana has rooms which cost about 33 - 35 US Dollars

Looks like you’re not too far from Ahmedabad, Gabe. If you happen to be there on the 15th or 16th it would be great to meet up. Lots to see and do there, from the Gandhi ashram to an epic night food market. We’ll be staying at the Deewanji Ni Haveli nearby. It could be a place you go through en route to Diu, the Rann of Khatchh, or en route down to Mumbai and Goa. We are in Delhi about to head south to Orchha, Khajuraho and Varanasi before flying to Ahmedabad on the 14th.
