A tour of Luling, Texas (city market BBQ on main street)

Luling is a small town of just over 5,000 people, located 60 miles northeast of San Antonio and 50 miles south of Austin, Texas. It's known as The Toughest Town in Texas in part because of drifters that came in during the railroad boom days and because it was a stop for rowdy cowboys along the Chisolm Trail. An oil boom happened in the 1920's and there are three major oil fields around town and they have an oil museum downtown as well.
1:52 Luling city market BBQ is known for having some of the best BBQ in Texas. They are popular for the indirect heat method and you order in the pit room and are supposed to eat with your hands.
They have live music near the main strip area at The Station as well as Rails & Ails, where Alex Lucas hosts a Tuesday Song's and Suds event. Good times
