thanks so much for this! i'd love to attend mcgill in the future. btw, it would be nice if you could add captions because the audio is kind of muffled

Maybe when you show the other buildings, it’d be easier popping up a map as you walk around everywhere?

I’ve always wanted to go to uni in a different province. Do you need to be fluent in French to be a student ?
@mmk94803 жыл бұрын
Nope, it is an English university. It might help to know a couple of sentences in French to get by in Montreal. Other than that you'd be fine.

Why is Burnside building not for mathematics? That like a Freud building that doesn't contain psychology. Or Turing building not for computer science. Or Feyman building not for physics.
@peteowe4 жыл бұрын
The Maths and Stats department is based in Burnside Hall. However, I don't understand your argument. Burnside Hall was named after James McGill's private residence, as such, has no connection with Mathematics.
@AlenaMcKenzie4 жыл бұрын
its also for math! I just completely forgot to mention it haha
@Grassmpl4 жыл бұрын
@@peteowe are you stupid? Burnside is a mathematician. He invented Burnside Lemma, a formula for counting the number of distinct orbits for combinatorial objects under some group action.
@peteowe4 жыл бұрын
@@Grassmpl According to McGill, Burnside Hall was named after James McGill's residence. cac.mcgill.ca/campus/buildings/Burnside_Hall.html. Do some research before calling someone stupid. Only ignorant people fools assume things and invent facts.
@Grassmpl4 жыл бұрын
@@peteowe if you are smart can you tell me why it was named "Burnside" and not something else? Ie how does that particular name correspond to the residence is any way? I don't see a direct correspondence so there must have been an external inspiration leading to that name. Coincidence I think not. It must come from someone famous, a mathematician. Either that or James McGill's home had historical influence by mathematics. Either way my argument makes total sense.
