I love books about New York. Somehow it helps me live better in my own city to read about how others live in their city - yes, a bit crazy I know! Your beautiful thoughts inspire me in my world. Oh Miranda, this was such a treat! Thank you so much for sharing! I love how you didn't change your storage and process just for the video. I appreciate authenticity. I am the same exact way, I will go down to my home library and look at my books with a cup of tea. I can sit there for quite some time just browsing and admiring my shelves. With that being said, I have a couple of ideas for future videos. I too love books about books. Could you do a more in depth video of your collection and/or favorites as I am trying to add to my collection. Also, I LOOOVE reading other peoples diary's and journals. I noticed you have a lovely collection here. Could you do a video on your favorites? I have very few in my collection and again would love to expand.....I hope I am not being too pushy here asking, these are just suggestions so no pressure.....Thanks again!

This is such a delight to watch! I have just recently found your channel and am loving peeking through your shelves! I love poetry, Shakespeare, 19th Century literature, children's classics, some high fantasy and mythology, among other titles! I have been collecting Folio Society books for over 30 years now. My MIL gave me my first one...her copy of Cranford, which set me off on a Gaskell frenzy! How delighted I was when Folio Society published her other works! Also a lover of Beatrix Potter, Tasha Tudor, Lark Rise to Candleford, The Country Child and all kinds of memoirs, and I love the Pre-Raphaelites too! I am forever running out of room and having to do that painful chore of culling books. I wish I had endless walls for endless amounts of shelves!!

Lovely thank you for this vicarious tour of your bookcases. You have beautiful collections. The book that always catches my eye in your videos is the Veneto cookbook and all the Persephones! I have this lovely quote that i try to put into practice often:) “Buy books, then, that you have read with profit and pleasure and hope to read and reread. Buy books that you may underscore passages and write upon the margins, thus assuring yourself that the book is your own. Keep the books that mean the most to you close at hand, one or two, if possible, on a table at your bedside. Do not hide away your favorite books or keep them locked in enclosed shelves. Do not keep them under glass.” ― Burton Rascoe, The Joys of Reading: Life's Greatest Pleasure Well I do restrain the writing in the margins and underlining. I love your choices.

Thank you for this video, Miranda! This was wonderful. My shelves are a muddle, too. And get more muddle-ish all the time. I am hoping to buy a house this year and every house I look at goes through the "Is there room for a library?" test. I agree 100% that the physical surroundings in a room matter. I could never have a library that was all eBooks. I love having the real books around me. I added a lot of books to my wishlist from this video, too, so more to add to the muddle!

I think I've watched this 3 times, pausing and copying down all the books!! Where do you get your books,and book collections? I love when someone has several of the same publisher, it looks so inviting! I have wanted those Beverley Nichols books forever, but they are so expensive...but I keep looking for deals. You have many lovely books, I am so inspired! I love poetry & nature books too, and anything vintage & floral, so I was doing a lot of snooping :) Please go over some of your collections in detail ? I just love your whole aesthetic style, and would love to see your whole house...I imagine you live in a dreamy cottage like something out of a book :) Great job Miranda, loved this....I'm one of the one's whose been waiting for it, ha ha!

I have gradually built up my collection over many years. In the case of small independent publishers (like Persephone Books), I buy straight from them. The rest I get in bookshops, secondhand or order online (Blackwells is one of my favourites for online book ordering). So glad you enjoyed this tour! I don't live in the countryside, but in a very small flat in London :) xxx

If books are inspiring you, your videos are very much inspiring me. Being French, I knew only the most famous english writers and I am discovering so many delightful ones thanks to you. They give me so much pleasure and remind me of my childhood when I spent days reading for hours and forgetting everything else ! Persephone Books I buy from their shop or website, but the other books I have for the most part either bought secondhand or in book shops. I'm lucky to have access to so many incredible book shops in London! So glad you're enjoying my channel - thank you! xxx

I've just discovered your channel today and have been bingeing on your videos, enchanted by yourself, your lovely mum, your home and the surrounding countryside, and your taste in books. I was enjoying this tour of your bookshelves, but have had to stop watching it, as unfortunately the movement of the camera gave me motion sickness. Hopefully I can return to it and watch it in smaller segments, as I'm particularly intrigued by all your books from the early to mid twentieth century.
