Disclaimers: Apologies for the loud background noises! My cats were knocking down books and such. Also, I am certain that I made a mess of pronouncing some or all of those names. Feel free to correct me in the comments!

Tolkien said that he thought one of the reasons people were so enamored by his work was a glimpse of a working world… I wish I could remember the exact quote… he said it was important to him to maintain far off vistas in his world. All these years later, we are still discussing those far off vistas.

So true! My sister, who suggested that I do this video, has always been so taken by his vivid descriptions of those "far off vistas." It is truly a gift that we were given through his writings!

@ “Part of the attraction of the L.R. is, I think, due to the glimpses of a large history in the background: an attraction like that of viewing far off an unvisited island, or seeing the towers of a distant city gleaming in a sunlit mist. To go there is to destroy the magic, unless new unattainable vistas are again revealed." I found the quote, he puts it far better than I did. Happy new years. Great video :)
