That was very interesting and yet painful at the same time. Back in the 60's a friend of my dad's told us about how he worked with Glenn Curtis and had developed the synchronization of guns shooting threw the props on plains. He had suggested rather than doing tests over land and destroying the props, do it over water. This development took place in Hammondsport NY on Keuka Lake. The man who thought of how to overcome this problem, his name is Doug Havens. He later became a machine shop specialist for Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post NY.

My dad was a 2nd LT sent in 6 months before the US returned. His speciality was communications and told me stories of the fierce Filipino soldiers and how they could hack their way thru the bush with cheap sandals. Because of his service there he came back with trench foot, PTSD, a Bronze, Silver star, and some serious scars from 2 purple hearts. His stories of how wonderful the Pinoys were got me to visit the RP in 2003 and now retired, spend 6 months a year there. Admire the hard working Pinoys.

I have really enjoyed this video, me and my wife Flordeliza, who came from Cebu three and a half years ago, over here to the southern Oregon USA coast where we met, we enjoy your videos, but this one stands out cause I am myself a war veteran and have collected military items and history books over the years, I mean, what alot of knowledge Mr. Cata-al has, he really knows his history on world weapons, and what a great collection for sharing with others.

Thank You so much Daisy, the stories of our parents and grandparents are the best source of first-hand information, it is a pity that when their time comes to an end the picture of history will be obliterated over time and made up to whatever is convenient for the current propaganda.

Hi guys.. great vlog I have spent time in Negros ( my ex wife was from there but lets not go there ) anyway there are still many stories of hidden treasure of Yamashita all around Negros much of which is booby trapped...... Im glad you have documented this as so much of this history is being lost with each generation.. Maybe you can make more of these ? Love your work guys.
@IslaPamilya2 жыл бұрын
Yamashita's gold is just an amazing story, Part of it was found by Marcos, a lot was taken by the CIA but surely there are some caches yet to be found. if there is an opportunity, of course, I will record something on a similar topic.
@kevinbutcher9952 жыл бұрын
@@IslaPamilya It would appear there is much more to the Yamashita story and amount of treasure ( not just gold ) than anyone knows and of course if the government or CIA took what ever was found then people aren't going to say anything if they find some.... This is an interesting story for sure and over time lips are starting to loosen up and stories are coming out, even I am aware of someone came into some wealth 50 odd years ago in Western Occidental and no one knows where it came from... Josh Gates Yamashitas gold is an interesting watch ...sorry that link was wrong just search online for josh gates or expedition unknown... and Yamashita

Fantastic man. I would never have gotten out of that place before they closed. Seen movies and read stories before, but this is the real deal. Matt maybe you should consider diving in the bay of Leyte if you want to experience wrecks. I think the one in the Sulu sea might be too deep down.
@IslaPamilya2 жыл бұрын
Similarly, I only went out because Maricar was hungry. If I can afford it, I'll dive any wreck in the Philippines, I'm a bit of a technical diver, so it's not a problem for me to go 60-70m deep with the propper buddy.
