A Tour of Utah's Legendary Hell's Backbone Road
In this episode, we tackle Hell's Backbone near Boulder Utah: one of Utah's most scenic backcountry drives that will take you from Escalante to Boulder. Hell's Backbone bridge spans about 150 feet across a narrow ledge of rock-a feat of engineering built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933 at the direction of then president Franklin D. Roosevelt. On the second half of our journey, we take a break from camping to visit the luxury Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch which serves up some mean farm-to-table burgers raised on site in the good old fashion organic, grass fed way.

That's super nice of you. We're so glad to be able to share our journey with folks like you, and to be able to inspire an occasional visit to a similar spot! Not sure how this particular road would be on a motorcycle, but Scenic Byway 12 is really a remarkable ride (in this area), I'm sure. Have you been?

Interesting! Never heard of that road so I had to check it out on the map, sure is a beautiful area.

Really is, and worth a visit if you're ever in that area. Plenty of camping up that way, too.
