A Traditional Fijian Welcome for Steph's Parents_Vlog142// Part 2

Part 2 of last week's vlog is here! Steph's parents finally arrived in the village for the first time after a flight delay. We prepared a delicious Lovo (earth oven), curry chicken, and chop suey for dinner. The whole family gathered around to welcome them. We also set up a traditional mat and Masi (tapa) as part of the Fijian tradition for welcoming in-laws. The night ended with full stomachs and wonderful company. Was blessed/tender moment when Steph's father greeted Grandma on the porch. Seemed as though she wiped a tear from her eye after that greeting. Also special to see the young lady placing leis around Steph's parents neck. 🌺 Great video. 😊

Nice food that's yummy here in the USA we cover the lovo with wet news papers and wet cardboard box and wet blankets and a tarp some people use wet towels or old clothes with news paper wen it's cooked the news papers turn hard like paper ma sheid but great contents much blessings and alofas

Kana vinaka! I think you need to invest in some gloves for taking everything out of the finished lovo, to save burning your hands. Did you use the grow bags to cover the lovo?
