Thank you for being the physical embodiment of what is wrong with the MSM. You did a real service to mankind during your debate with Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray by showing what not to be...

attn: mr malcom gladwell I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for demonstrating how not to treat someone in a debate. you have certainly succeeded in proving your opponents in the munk debate correct on several important points. Michelle Goldberg deserves an award for best naif supporting ingenue. Your artful dogeing of the Ethical land mines perpetrated by the media leash holders was as elequent as it was ingenious. While your opponent narrated facts faught by the editorial departments of mainstream media & tech industry organizations, you hand picked anecdotal uncheckable facts to fit a preconceived narrative sponsored by corporate interests & the neodictatorships of the compelled speech tyrants in Canada. Congratulations the two of you have in some small contribution of cheeky chiding of the truthful, divided western society. Yours truly DTM.

Have you seen/heard the Munk Debate that featured Malcolm? As someone that purchased a copy of all of his published works, it was remarkably disappointing. I’d love for you to grade each of the participants. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever support Malc again. It was one of the most shameless displays I’ve seen.

Because the debate showed what a vapid nothing Gladwell is. I'm not a troll - I've read some of his books previously, thought he seemed interesting. After seeing his racist, strawmanning, incoherent mumblings, especially compared to an intellectual powerhouse like Murray, no wonder people are talking about it. His performance was pathetic, embarrassing, and on the level of a 10 year old in a room of adults.

Regarding the 14m mark on how people/classes are front-loaded, i.e. you make up your mind quickly and are unlikely to change it despite new evidence.. while movies are back-loaded, your feeling about it is contingent on how it ends. I think restaurants are in the middle... you may like a restaurant for years, but if the last few times are bad then you write them off.

It's not with malice or without regret Mr. Gladwell, but I just watched your Munk debate. It was a performance that I could never defend to my children as either competent or good willed. I will.still recommend some of you individual writings as I always have. The performance does not make you a bad person, but it has made me feel I want to hear less from you, and so I unsubscribe.

Yeah, I don't get Malcolm's thing about nobody thinks about endings. They are huge and always have been. Maybe it's because they tend to get rushed more often than beginnings do because people just want to finish or are on deadline, etc.
@BumpyHumpyDumpy Жыл бұрын
Perhaps it’s because Malc lives in his own little bubble and is largely detached from reality. I highly recommend watching his horrid display at the Munk Debate to see how detached and warped he has become, and he gets called out for personally having a poor grasp on facts when it comes to his pontificating. Something that is abundantly clear as the debate goes on and he can’t even conjure up the decency to pronounce someone’s name correctly as he calls them and their ethnic minority father and grandfather White Supremacists…because Malc has half a kink in his hair, he’s experienced real racism!

Watch him in the Munk Debate, he proves to be one of the greatest intellectual disappointments. Malc provided one of the most shameful displays of intellectual cowardice ever seen on a stage. There’s nothing quite as distasteful as ignorance mixed with arrogance. Malc is a deeply flawed person.

s219720... If you are watching, you can't be sleeping; you would be listening as you fall asleep. Unless you have a really old device, you should be able to control the screen brightness. My laptop uses the F11 button to turn the screen completely black while leaving the audio unaffected. F12 brings it back again.

I did see the Munk debate and was seriously disappointed with your (Malcom) statements at several levels. First you did not show any respect to those on the other side of the debate, one example was repeatedly mispronouncing Matt Taibbi's surname even after being corrected, if it was intentional that is childish, otherwise disrespectful. Second all your responses were concepts you created about what they said and then you proceeded to attack those very concepts, there were no facts that were used in any of your statements. Your response to Matt and Doug's presentation about the Steele dossier or the Hunter Biden issue (laptop included) seemed to be more concerned what your immediate acquaintances thought rather than your audience, immediate or at large. If that was not the case it was incredibly superficial because it never addressed the core ideas that your opposition in the debate presented. Maybe you did not participate in debates before, if that is the case, your behavior is more understandable. The evidence of who had the bigger impact in that debate was in the before and after opinion statistics of folks that attended the debate, hope it is a reality check on your view of the effectiveness of your approach. Certainly was a surprise to see the author of the 3 books that I read, all well thought through, and the podcasts, again very well thought through, and contrast that with the arguments you were making in the debate. Could not reconcile both, disappointed is about as nicely as I can put it.

Same here! I got rid of all my Gladwell books, including The Bomber Mafia. Unsubscribed from the podcast, and will never support this man financially again. I’m glad to know that if I disagree with Gladwell, he’ll call me a racist because he has half a kink in his hair. Never mind him being the definition of privilege throughout his entire existence. His mother was a psychotherapist and his father was an English mathematics professor, he grew up in a Mennonite community in rural Ontario. Ohhh, and his maternal Jamaican ancestors were slave owners.
