Absolutely yumminess!! I love persimmons. I used to drink a tea made from them and dry them for snacks. Yes, our persimmons are very cheap. In rural areas in China, there are some persimmons rotten on the tree. Personally, I think this is one of the most delicious foods in autumn!

I have learned of all kinds of new methods of preserving persimmons from the people of China. I was wondering if Grandma knows the hanging up outside method but under the rafters in the shade. We have some frosty mornings now. Does Grandma think the persimmons would dry properly if it is cooler outside? We have many dry days ahead right now. 🙂

日本の干し柿作りとは違いますね❗️日本では渋柿を使い軒先に干したりして年末や正月に食べてました。柿の皮は漬物にも入れたりします😃懐かしくなりました

I live in NC USA. Some people believe that the shape of the persimmon seed, you have to cut the seed from top to bottom, will indicate what the winter will be like. The seed can look like a spoon, meaning lots of snow to shovel, or a fork; which means a mild winter, or a knife, which means the it will be so cold that the air will feel like a knife cutting you. Has anyone else heard of this?

I have never had a crispy persimmon, just soft ones. They're delicious, but an unripe is so horribly astringent, that I'm afraid to randomly try seemingly ripe ones. 🤨

good question. when i saw the yummy dried sweet persimmons during the sunshine processing, and i thought why no flies fly them around cuz usually village countryside usually will have bugs and flies, etc.
