His music really touches my soul. It's what I hope to be able to create on the harp one day -- music from my own spirit. He must have been a very gentle and beautiful person. Thank you so much for your heartfelt tribute!

There is a wistfulness about this piece that makes you want to appreciate all the beauty that surrounds you and just freeze time for that moment. But beauty can be a temporal thing and all encompassing which is why this piece is lovely as is your friend who wrote it and so is your tribute to him.

Brook and my harp instructor, Rhett Barnwell were very close friends. I heard about his passing only a couple hours ago. Rhett told me about this tribute that you did for him and how much he appreciated it. His music is more than spiritual; it's heavenly, sparking many emotions as a person listens to it. You also are a true inspiration; giving such a tender tribute to a close friend. I'm sure he's smiling at his music being played by you; knowing what a great friend you were. My thoughts to you and to Rhett of course.... to have had your lives touched by such an inspirational soul.......

I am African American. I am learning small harp from beautiful friends we love each other and help one another in these awful, yet beautiful times in the ways we are being brought together to really see each other as human beings. Your tribute so touched my heart. Thank you for showing the beauty all human beings are capable of.

Knowing Brook only through his music but his sensitivity and love came through so clearly. Yes, Upon the Willows is alive in my heart as his memory. He responded to a comment I made when I first attempted playing his music. He responded with support that inspired me. I hope our paths cross again. RIP Brook God Bless You! 💖🙏💫💕

This is so strange Christy Lyn because I attended a Loreena McKennitt concert last night in Calgary, Alberta, and she mentioned him. I didn't know who he was and it kind of slipped out of my mind. Then I just opened my youtube after my Learning the Harp course, and here this was. I was crying along with you at the loss of your friend. You are amazing to be able to play in that circumstance but you brought the music to life. It's a very beautiful and moving tribute.

The beginning of your presentation was very touching. I am sorry for your grief and sadness. At this time with the coronavirus, your sorrow is too greatly shared by many in their personal losses. It is beautiful to see how deeply you loved Brook Boddie. It is apparent the depth of your friendship. I feel only sympathy for you and I am moved by your humanity.

Brook was a dear friend of mine in real life. I’ve been on many choir trips with him and endless hours at the church with him supporting us on the piano. He was a talented musician but had an even kinder soul. His loss is felt here, but I had no idea how far his kindness stretched across the globe. Thank you for honoring him. This was beautiful.

For all you have accomplished, for all of the lovely music you blessed his ears with and for all of company and love you have shown him throughout your friendship. Please know that we are all here for you and are ready to support you. I know only too well what the grief you are going through, feels like. Brook has expressed through his music more than could ever be said in words, he seemed a very lovely man. He is watching down over you and will want to hold on to the love, not the loss. Where there is grief, there was great love. We are all here for you Christy-Lyn xx

This was the most emotional video I've ever seen on your channel. Maybe it is even the most emotional video you ever made. But although you are quite woebegone for the loss a close friend you nevertheless try to keep on going, which I adore. For a long time I did not know why I appreciate listening to you playing the harp or even giving your lessons. Now I know. It kind of feels like a time travel to the 19th century. Your presentations seem like short trips to a clear and neat world that probably never existed. However, you create this world for us. I wish you'd never stop it.

I'm shedding tears with you.....Upon The Willows was the first harp song that made me fall in love with the harp. I had to play it....even though I was a brand new harpist. I've played it a hundred times since I began this journey less than a year ago. Brook felt like a friend. He answered any newbie question I threw at him. It's my dismay that I will not meet him. Surely he continue to be my inspiration through others who cherish his gift. Particularly one Christy Lyn Morais.

Wow Christy-Lyn, I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend 😔 I did check out his KZbin channel like you gave and his last post was very beautiful - what an amazing piano player as well. It would be wonderful to learn his music too to play for our church 🤍 One of the reasons that I watch you more and exclusively for the harp, is because of you and your love for Christ like mine. It was wonderful to know hat he was a Christian and knew his Savior! Praise God! And knowing this truth, while he is no longer with us here on earth, you will see him again in Heaven! What hope and joy this brings! 🤍 From what it seems like from the date that you did this this video, it may have been around the same time that my Mother was called home to Jesus as well - July 11th 2020. I miss her so much everyday and still can’t believe she’s gone. But I do not weep and morn as one with no hope - Gods promises and strength are with me always ❤️ This was my Mom’s verse. I pray it brings you continued comfort as it does for me... "Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;" - ‭‭John‬ ‭11:25‬ ‭NIV ❤️✝️

If I had to guess I would say that there was not a person who was not positively impacted by his life for he was truly an inspiration of faith and Christianity exemplified. I had not worked with him for three years but he always took the time to reach out to me to see how I was and to pray for me consistently. You are definitely right about how thoughtful and caring he was and people all over the world experienced his gift of service. I will always consider his life and friendship as a special gift from God. Thank you again for sharing these beautiful pieces.

Beautiful tribute, Christy-Lyn. Goodbyes are so hard. We will see him again, and all play harps together to the glory of King Jesus. A little advice? It will be tempting to fight the grief and get things done. That is a trap, and only makes the sorrow linger more. Both you and your team- Take time, make time for the grief; not just now but in the days to come. Give it room and honor Brook’s memory in the presence of God. Hugs.

He was quite a special guy. I have been playing the harp for over 20 years. He answered one of my comments. That's the only time I actually spoke to him. But what a beautiful soul. As a black American I don't like being call African American. But he was right about all this color madness. The people of this world is so blind. Police brutality is not about color. It's about control and power. I worked for the LAPD when I lived in Los Angeles, I was a PSR/911 operator. At that time there was a homeless man that the LAPD brutally murdered. His name was Kelly Thomas he was white. They use their taser on him and literally cooked him to death. KZbin still have that video. I know because I took that 911 call someone saw it and call to say these cops are going to kill this man. Kelly was crying out I can't breathe please stop please stop then you can hear him scream. They did that for almost an hour. It was so sad. After that I quit 911. And start to do studio work with my harp. This world needs the harp for the peace and serenity that it brings. For the healing power of her strings. For her beauty and Grace. One only need to be reminded of King David singing Saul to sleep with the harp.

What a beautiful tribute to Brook, Christy-Lyn. He and my brother, Rhett Barnwell, were very close friends and Rhett would speak of Brook often. I never met him, but felt I knew him through Rhett.
