This world lost a remarkable woman but the heavens sang! BUT the impression left behind is huge as Natalie proves. I can see Maya's huge beautiful smile as she hears Natalie speak this heartfelt poetic tribute. AND, what Natalie said, lol!

Natalie I want to thank you for this beautiful piece you've dedicated to Dr. Maya Angelou! A soulful literary giant left our world only to enter the beautiful gates of heaven as a poetic goddess, a new beacon of light in heaven which will watch above and over us for an eternity! We are blessed to have had her in our lifetime. We are blessed to have had her words touch our hearts and souls. Oh how we have been so blessed! What you put together for her I see as not a way of saying goodbye to her but rather saying "From you dear sweet Maya I have learned and for you dear sweet Maya I will now continue and teach those under me as I was under you. Because now you a most phenomenal woman has risen up to find rest with our Father!" Thank you! 😊🙏

That was a lovely and beautiful Tribute, Natalie. Our dear sister has transitioned into eternity, yet her love for the spoken word lives on and thrives and young sisters like you continue to pass forward the truth of our spirit as women, as men---as human kind...in and out....in and out.....in and out of time. Thank you Maya. Now take your place for quiet rest.

Exceptionally Phenomenal .. words of uplifting enlightenment to a great woman.. these tributes that are told after a passing of such an inspiring individual. should be heard by mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers ..individuals who's soul purpose in life is to bring joy, love and support to one another.... Maya Angelou's voice will never be forgotten and her impact is certainly a lasting impression on how we must value our life.

I always wonder how come this type of things are only written when the person is not able to hear them at all.
@nataliepattersonpoetry10 жыл бұрын
I think it is about relevance and timing. I actually wrote a poem for her a year ago (it was in a collection I released "dearly beloved" but what would have made this many people care about it on a random day? Unfortunately, we as a people do not often think to express gratitude unless there is a "reason." In many cases death brings it all to the surface. I do believe that once we are no longer flesh and bone we experience everything all at once. I believe my poem found her at the perfect time.
@MelissaSotoPerna10 жыл бұрын
In that case I do not think writing such a beautiful poem should be more focus on how much people would care about it but how much the person who it is addressed to will cares. I am sure if she had the chance to read it when alive, it would definitely mattered a lot for her.
