Oregon State University Emeritus Professor, Dr. Marcus J. Borg, a scholar who popularized a liberal intellectual approach to Christianity with his lectures and books about Jesus as a historical figure, passed away at his home this past January.
In 1979, Borg joined the faculty at Oregon State University and taught religion until his retirement in 2007. In 1993, Borg was named the first Hundere Chair for Religion and Culture.
Many photographs and videos of his lectures are available online. For his memorial service at OSU (held 3/20), we took a few small clips from them to honor his life, his memory, and his work.
