I think the silent book is a great challenge. A child should be able to read a picture book without even knowing the words. That is the aim of every illustrator I guess.

As a fellow illustrator, I'd LOVE to go to this book fair sometime! It looks like such a great way to connect and become inspired by all the wonderful, diverse art in all shapes and forms, as well as to meet other artists. I always struggle with meeting new people, so I think an event like this would be really good for me to get out there and participate in something bigger than myself. yay, I see your still using your surface book. so glad it's still working! Once the Surface laptop studio 2 comes available I will be switching to that since my screen battery is dead in my Surface book 2. 😢 I also have a surface pro 2 It still works amazing 10 years later so I am pretty disappointed my screen battery doesn't work any more.

Do you have a rough estimate of how many of the illustrators on display, in the books and on the walls, were done traditionally? It looks like digital illustrations are much more thought after, but i enjoy my traditional art much more. I'm planning on attending thus year and want to prepare as much as possible.
