A Trip To Disney's Animal Kingdom | Things We've Never Noticed, Pandora & The Best Safari Ride!

In today's vlog we head to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom to check in on Pandora: The World of Avatar about 3 weeks after it's opening date. We had a fastpass for Navi River Journey, which is still just as beautiful as it was on opening day! We finally saw the Netiri bust on this trip, it's pretty impressive. We took a quick look in the gift shop, Windtraders, and saw that the shoulder banshees are back in stock! The line was realllllly long. We also saw the new Pandora: World of Avatar magicbands that were for sale. Then we went over to ride Dinosaur and found some other fun new things we hadn't noticed before along the way. And because it had just rained after our ride on Dinosaur, we wanted to take a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris because the animals are really active after a rainstorm. We had a great time on the safari, we saw a lot of animals and we had an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable! We had a really great day despite the rain. I have to say I really appreciate Tim mentioning the frustration with either rides not being accessible . That seems to be ignored about the rides and I don't understand why. I'm an annual passholder and was disappointed that I would not be able to enjoy either attraction in Pandora. Small world is also a boat ride and they have an accessible vehicle for that so I don't know why they didn't make the same type of boat for the river journey attraction. They could've also put a stationary viewing area in flight of passage sort of like how Universal does with the minion mayhem ride.

Thanks for the info on Na'vi River Journey Tim, this summer will be the first time we have visited the parks since I became an amputee, so every little bit of accessibility info shared is like pure gold dust! The parks are okay at giving the mobility information out, but they could definitely do better. Thank you for the contribution!

Hi Tim! I was a CP at DAK a few years back. I was told on my orientation tour that the footprints signify the poorer area of "Asia" toward Everest (can't remember that towns name) and you'll see bike tracks toward the wealthier area of Anandapur. Just a tidbit 👍

Thanks so much for mentioning the accessibility issues for rides. My family had a wonderful trip last August and for the most part things are made to be some what accessible. The one issue we did discover was on the Haunted Mansion. My mom uses a scooter due to breathing issues and we parked the scooter at the exit but then she had a long walk to go back and get on the ride. She made it, but barely.

Very enjoyable trip to see various things across animal Kingdom. I love seeing all the different animals in action. I remember I was disappointed when I went on those nature trails because the animals weren't that active at the time I happened to go. Timing.

I just got back from wdw two weeks ago. As a DVC member, I got to do the moonlight magic in animal kingdom. And man, pandora is beautiful at night, the ground glows in black light. All the plants glow, animal noises, no lines. I also got a banshee puppet right away :D

i just got back from Disney a few days ago and Pandora is always crowded. We stood in line for a hour to get on Avatar Flight of Passage, only to find out my grandpa was "too tall" to ride and had to wait for us outside. after getting off the ride and meeting up with him there were people way taller than him getting off the ride and we couldn't understand why he couldn't ride it. However for the trouble we each got two fast passes for any ride there and immediately went on the na'vi river ride.

Whenever I went with my marching band we saw elephants mating during the safari and the truck was full of high school students that bursted out laughing because we understood what was happening but at the front there one family with a little girl and she had no idea what was happening so the driver had to say they were having play time.

Thank you for your comment about the lack of special wheelchair-accessible boats for Navi River...my wife is in a chair and we both got hurt getting her out of Frozen Ever After when we visited this last January...they have special boats for both the Gran Fiesta Tour as well as Its a Small World, so it's NOT impossible to put an accessible boat on boat rides...it's just stupid they don't...VERY disappointing that we will likely have to miss this ride the next time we visit

I can sort of understand Frozen because of the drop and not being able to fully secure the chair. But Navi is a slow moving boat ride that should have special boats.
