Thank you for the lovely tour of the garden. So interesting. Salvia leaves smell of blackcurrants to me. The house looks beautiful too. Your videos are always enjoyable, and informative, whatever the subject.

That garden has had a good makeover or revival. I visited Rodmarton manor back in the 1990s with the old Clifton Garden Society (Clifton in Bristol). Gillian and Christine and some of the others organized some really good trips to iconic gardens. However that particular day the garden at this place was rather overgrown and a lot of the shrubs needed cutting back. That was my impression but I thought maybe I'd got it wrong and didn't say anything so I was glad to hear someone else say that. It looks spiffing now though I must say. Inside the house I admit after a bit I did find the relentless good taste a bit dull and I longed to see something plastic in primary colours. One thing in the house I liked was a tapestry or rather probably an applique -embroidery like the Bayeux Tapestry. One of the family made it,all sewed by hand in the 1930s,and it depicts life in the village and all the people portrayed were actual people who lived in the village and all their names are listed so if your family lived in that village then there is probably a portrait a bit cartoon like,of your great grandpa or ma. It goes against our instincts but flower colours actually photograph better under a grey sky. I found this out when I took photos of the expanses of purple heather in part of the New Forest. The pictures I took on a glorious sunny day,the sun gleamed off the heather and kind of whited it out. The next day when I was so disappointed it was grey the pictures came out fabulous with the deep purple of the heather. This was back when you had to take your roll of film to Boots and wait a week! Am I old,or am I old? !!!

Great road trip, thanks for taking me along, lol. I really enjoy your videos which is wonderful because unless I win the lottery 😂, alas, I doubt I’ll ever see the English countryside or be able to take one of your classes. Have a wonderful Sunday. TeresaSue.

@@g.christelbecker6349 that would be fun. Hopefully I can remember by the time spring comes around and I get started. We’ll have snow here very soon and Winter is always reluctant to let go his grip on us. But it will be fun to plan! Best, TeresaSue.
