We hope all of you had a happy Thanksgiving weekend! We wanted to let everyone know that Oso is only tied up as a temporary solution until my mom gets the fence fixed. Thanks so much for taking us along on your stop at home & ER visit. I must admit, I was excited to see the goats & chickens, as well as GIANT OSO and SUPERHERO MOM! Watching the numbing process & hearing the doctor say "poke" was triggering my PTSD a bit, but I made it through, just like you did, Trent. It's a really good thing you got it taken care of - my 76 yr old mom had an injury to a finger on her left hand that she refused to have a doctor look at, even though the wound kept reopening & she kept accidentally tearing it open. Last week it "swole" so bad, she finally went to have it checked out - and ended up spending the week in the hospital on massive doses of several different types of IV antibiotics, because she had an antibiotic-resistant strain of staph infection. They ended up amputating the tip of her middle finger. Due to neuropathy, it never even hurt her, and she kept a good sense of humor about it. She asked the doctor if they could send that piece of her middle finger to her least favorite politician. Take care of each other, and thank you again for providing a window into a hopeful, happy, and loving world in the midst of all the chaos going on in the world right now. You're a good antidepressant! *much love to you both*

@Haggis and Chips Your answer and Tim Peterson’s above are the two best recommendations on the board so far. Good work fellas!!
@drunkingsailor23594 жыл бұрын
@Haggis and Chips yes some damage can happen in shipping from manufacturer to point of sale. Most window companies want you to inspect them upon arrival, however if it's going to be a bit b4 ready to install I think it's better to leave the package on the screens are the most vulnerable. As I said b4 if the glazing is cracked the manufacturer usually will supply you a new sash complete and Don't want the damaged item back. This applies only to dbl sash casement and awning style. If it's a single hung and it's the upper glazing that's damaged then the company may or may not send a tech to fix but In the end someone will have to pull the keepers and remove the damage glass. That can be a PIA.

Started following you two about a week and a half ago & your building adventures remind me of my wife and my similar building experiences in southeastern BC, Canada over the last 16 years as we create our little piece of sanctuary in the Rockies. We two had limited building experience, but did it all during the summer breaks as we were both teachers so had summers off. Now retired & finishing off leftover tasks such as baseboards, backslashes and other little minor tasks, the knowledge built up is another skill added to our repertoire - you two are acquiring those skills that only can be taught through doing and doing it together. So much enjoy watching your posts. Good luck and thanks for the Great viewing. Wondering if you got the 4 wheel drive system working on your Dodge Cummins Diesel? We've had one since 2006 and if yours isn't working check with your local service provider to make sure the solenoid for the activation of the front differential when selected is working. I also noticed you have quite a narrow driveway/access point from the main road for getting trailers into the property - we do as well so to counter the difficulty of getting trailers into the driveway I installed a front class 3 receiver on our Dodge (attached to the frame under the front bumper) and when needing to put trailers where they need to go I simply switch the ball mount to the front of the truck (I actually have a specific ball mount just for the front that stays there) and maneuvering trailers now becomes a BREEZE. You can place them within millimetres of where you want them because you're driving them in instead of backing up. There you go. Looking forward to your next post. Thanks again for your enjoyable musings and life experiences.

I love Allie's authentic & genuine optimism because negativity is a burden that usually just piles up then burst/explodes! Although it may be a temporary relief to let it all out (by yelling or screaming), it is never a fix nor will the problem disappear on its own, and as a result, the stress persists until you leave the negativity behind & move forward with best efforts. I truly agree that the best way to solve a problem is by moving forward with a positive outlook, which seems to be the approach Allie & Trent have used throughout their project. Awesome attitude & way to go!!! 😇❤️

Hey guys. Well when I read the title of this video my heart skipped a beat! I just imagined that you fell off the roof or something else just as horrible. I was so relieved to find out it was just a finger. Shame on you! Lol Seriously I look so forward to your videos and I've fallen in love with both of you. I'll be rooting for you two every step of the way. Big hugs from Nashville! 💞

Sandra Westley me to, as soon as the video popped up and I saw him lying on that bed, I thought oh no, what’s happened now, just so glad it’s a splinter, I do hope you had a tenuous jab, and that it will soon be back to normal.

Oh gosh! I held my breath through every window install thinking there was going to be a crash and a finger loped off. Thank goodness all is well. Loved seeing your Mom’s little farm. She truly is amazing. Aside from the finger repair it seems you had. great day off! Thank you for sharing!

When I first saw the title and the picture, I thought "Oh no" I'm glad it didn't seem as bad as it sounded. I love it when animals sense there is something different. I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving and looking forward to Friday's video!!

You need something that say “a hair out of square” to hang in in your house. Maybe even t-shirts

I would look into buying a sweatshirt or hoodie if they where from Trent and ally

The first time I heard the phrase a "hair out of square" was by Tom Silva on This Old House. So it might actually be copyrighted. BTW, Tom never settled for being a hair out of square. 🤣

Windows are made to be broken, so they have to be made to be replaced after installation 👍😀 I hope the weather is kind. Good job!

Can't believe I actually thought, "Maybe put the cracked window in because it would be more protection than no window." But I really didn't know. Thought just crossed my mind.
