Why not paint those edges of the nightstand white or even the midnight blue from the walls to make it a custom piece! It’s a little boy’s room so it doesn’t have to be perfect. Also - get that big ladder out again and put some glow n the dark star constellations and planets on the ceiling above Leo’s bed so he can “look at the stars” to keep him in bed longer. Allie you did a great job! Seeing you fearlessly handling the drill like a pro warmed my heart!

Good "Mom" intuition, Allie! When my son was 2 1/2 we moved into our family home, and I too decided that if he had choices in colors and kid decor he'd transition better. He chose "baby blanket green" like his favorite blanket for paint and crayons for comforter, border and a crayon ceiling fan. His biggest thrill was his bookcase and chair. He not only slept great, but he chose to be in there playing and reading over the rest of the house. Our rooms are places for our comfort, LOVE that you did this!

Allie, the nail trick works better if you remove the lid first then poke the nail holes in the grove on the can and not the lid. The paint will drain back into the can and when you put the lid back on the holes will be sealed and your paint won't dry out. Love that blue!

I have painted for years my sister had 42 rental houses so I think I'm pretty good at it but one of our little hacks is you put a cap full of vanilla extract in your paint and it takes away the paint fumes❤❤
