So very glad that Freya’s eyes are good. I just had two eye surgeries in St. George. Not much fun but a miracle happened. I can suddenly see out of my right eye. I have not been able to use that eye since birth. And yes, I’m 83 and this miracle was not expected by the doctor or me. It was just to get rid of a cataract. Now I can see clearly, lovely things like little Freya and that makes my heart sing.

My little charge with CDLS was diagnosed with cognitive blindness. She had far sightedness but the way her brain saw things was a bit different than us. It opened up a whole other world of disability help. She had visits from the Blind organization who were on a whole other level. They were simply wonderful. Her eyes would light up and a huge smile across her face would greet her dedicated therapist. They were under the name of Board of Education for the Blind. Just a thought. You do have a Utah Board of Education for the Blind and Deaf. And by the way. You make one beautiful witch!

How could they tell what her brain was comprehending
@wendystephan3527 күн бұрын
@ Good question! And I don't really know but I imagine they devised some tests where she had to reach for something which would test depth perception and stuff like that. I remember once she was lining some blocks up on a bench and would cross the room and check them and then go back and rearrange or add and subtract blocks. But not all the time. It did seem she was trying different ways to look at things. I don't know!
@unknownentity796427 күн бұрын
@@Freyasluckyarmthere's specialised testing for cortical blindness ('brain' blindness). They do something like use an EEG to monitor brain waves while the kiddo is looking at stuff. I think there may also be another method where they scan they brain, and they can see which areas of the brain light up when different things are in front of the eyes. They can use that to determine if any signals at all reaching the brain from the eyes, and also can figure out if the kiddo just has a little trouble with it, or a lot. They can also figure out what visuals are better for the kid. Like, if they need big contrast to see better, a black background with yellow text for example. I think the best place to get that testing started would be with a neuro-opthalmologist. Or if you don't have one, a regular neurologist should be able to do some level of testing or send you to someone who can! I hope this helps :) Edit - you may want to ask Stephanie about it (Sebastian's mum) because I believe Sebastian has had testing done to see what his brain is able to see/process too

Hi there, Biddie! I remember you from Beckham's channel. I absolutely adore him but I stopped watching their channel because they started to be all about KZbin fame and money and that's when that line gets crossed into exploitation... Click bait, constant sponsorships, etc. its very dangerous and also very unhealthy for Blakely and her obsession with vlogging and 'her friends' at such a young age. It was disappointing because I was interested in seeing his progress, especially with the wheelchair! 😢 He is so smart! I even DMed them to show them that I didn't even try, at ALL and within 2 minutes, seriously 2 minutes, I had their home address,their parents address, and all of Hunters work information because of how much they share online. They didn't seem to care (and they did respond to me) which had me pretty surprised. Priorities, I suppose. 🤷🏻♀️ Marci and Stephanie are much more tasteful to me and it just really made me realize how much effort it takes to actually bring awareness to special needs and disabilities and also stay private while sharing certain things. Anyway, sorry for the random mini rant that you didn't ask for!!😂😂 I also don't hate them or anything like that, I was just extremely disappointed and unsubbed, but I still check in every few months. 😅 Anyway, i just wanted to say hello because I've always enjoyed your comments and say that it's nice to see you here! ❤❤ I've been following these guys since the beginning! Sending hugs to you. My son was recently diagnosed with Autism. He struggles so much with social cues and making friends. He has a heart of gold but it is heartbreaking when I see people roll their eyes at him or think he is weird or odd. The diagnosis was not a surprise but as he has gotten older, the social emotional piece has become more pronounced. He often feels left out and it is so frustrating when I see him struggle. You are an amazing mom with a beautiful family. I love watching little Freya grow. She is going to do great big amazing things in this world!!!

It still blows my mind that some people are like that when they see someone not 'typical'. IMO autism is very, VERY common, so you would think the world would be comfortable by now. ❤ Sending you love. Please don't let the 'watchers' get to you. Oh Marcie, that hurt your mamas heart didn’t it. You do such a good job of being loving, fair and encouraging to each of your children. It’s a tough journey along the way, you certainly have the intelligence, integrity and love to see it through. Hopefully as Freya grows, so will awareness that people can be different but it’s ok. Her hair really did look so pretty and sadly that’s half the battle. If you don’t put on a good front, people can be very cruel. That shouldn’t happen with Freya too much as you keep her and all your children so sweetly and nicely dressed. They also have the manners to go with it. Liam is the perfect big brother. 🤗👍👍❤️

With Autism we have similar problems with Holidays ,Celebrations Cinimas, Heat Cold ,Textures,sensiry loves dislikes , becoming overwelmed with situations that seem simple to others. But our parents just let us do what we wanted to Celebrate our own way, and in that way they made things so wonderful memorable, that we still remember the simplest of things still now that most wiuldnt remember 40 dd tears later and it's beautiful . We see things like that like putting on a DVD, its beautiful and with smelly vision and felly vision often too . Its very emotional but so very beautiful , especially now our parents are no longer with us or our loved ones we shared those things with.
