It still sucks people dont hold locks. You can see it at the end of the first match. Last enemies were over in the next valley and friendlies are shooting lasers at it but there is nothing for him to lock onto...or it keeps drooping out. With 2 friendlies over there there should be a lock. Even if its just to see the paper doll and know what components are already damaged.

@@deettee6794 Well you just made my point. When I rewatch it I see that he is able to effectively get locks because 3 friendly mechs are on to of the ridge shooting at the last 3 mechs. They TGT them so Bara can LRM them also. The Dervish has a lot of Radar Derp but there is nothing to hide behind back there. I see you just don't want to target guys as to not allow others with LRMs to get additional damage or assist. That entitlement. Not teamwork. The video shows how good play benefits all.

@@TheAnhydrite 3 friendly mechs? are you blind? there's only one ally there. of those "3 friendly mechs", the supernova was late and the madii accidentally dropped down into ramp and was subsequently late as well. in fact, between those two, only the madii was able to squeeze off a single shot. abe was the only ally in there 1v3ing the enemy and you're moaning that he's not holding locks. jesus christ. and you still insist you're not being entitled.

I still think just pure lrms is doing it wrong. I like to play an Archer or Marauder with 2 arty Lrm 15s and as much ammo and medium lasers I can pack in. I stay with the pack and I can have consistant 700+ damage games...usually.😅 Using his tag trick on the side mouse button has also increased my game. But yeah pure lrm is usually only fun for beginers and my setup usually amounts in more damage done cause I'm sharing armour, not getting anihilated by light and medium mechs and not reliant on locks if I can't get any. IMO the basic Archer build with lrm 25s or 20s plus a crap ton of medium lasers has always been one of the best builds since the OG 3050 book. It does good damage at all ranges, sturdy as all fuck, fast enough, and ignored over anything with large auto cannons, lasers/ppcs or Gauss rifles. What it lacks is dps but being a mid pack player fixes that.

@@loganholmberg2295 this is a team fight, the role of a lrm boat is a nasty one. Imagine being on the receiving end of a hailstorm, A never ending barrage of missiles, forcing you go get back to cover instead of shooting your enemies. A good player, like in this video, can use such a firepower to add the psychological erosion into the enemy team, forcing them into a chaos. Team cohesion is not that great in the random matching that MWO does, so if you scare the, they will trip on each other instead of strategically pulling back covering their team mates backs.

I love the proper use of LRMs, whether I'm dealing them or benefitting from them! It's so satisfying getting into AC20 range with your targets already softened up or missing armor, from your LRMers right behind you. Or locking target to have your dakka impacting along with the deathly rain of the LRMers. My favorite is probably the Huntsman C with LRMs and a 3 er med lasers.

The boats are going to have you for lunch. The long range lasers guys can too but they are usually guys playing with targetting computers and have shitty aim if you are going at least 10 kph.😂😂😂

Light Mechs have an interesting relationship with LRMs. On the one hand, they're the best suited for getting in close to tear LRM boats to pieces. On the other hand, nothing puts down a light quite as fast if they're caught out in the open. Can't dodge homing missiles.

Builds: Hobo with a shotgun: Panther with single LB10 cooldown quirk. Shadow Cat: Ultra 5, 2 Heavy Mediums, + MGs. I think it was this one where I managed 17 components destroyed. Piranha: Quad AMS, 2 ER Med on arms, and Heavy med in center... Had a few 700+ match scores with this one. Archer: Rockets in torso, missiles in arms and narc in center. Urbie: 2SRM6 with Artemis, 3 Med Pulses

This makes me SOOOO happy. This is what I main but I haven't played in awhile so I didn't know if it was still viable or not. To see you randomnly make one and post it just lights up my day. Your matches are pretty typical to what I get. This is my ULTIMATE pug mech. Although in the tech trrees, I reduce some of the combat ones and go full sensors that way I get full tracking most of the time. It is a light and medium mech killer. As you can see 1 or 2 volleys and they are DEAD and nothing makes me happier than killing a light mech pilot. Also a cool trick I learned is to not fire them at the same time. If you chain fire (I think that's what you were doing) then the missiles form a tighter group and its like getting hit by an AC. If you fire them in groups the game spreads them out more and of course you get ghost heat [unless thats been fixed]). I like to hang with the assaults for cover and as our lights and mediums start finding targets Ill pepper them. Then Ill wait till they get into a brawling then lay the hammer down and just chain fire like mad until they pop. SOOOOO much fun. Eventually they learn to hate you and zerg rush to kill you. So I have had to drop a ton of ammo and put a single laser in to at least be able to fight. I think I dropped some armor too so I could fit in extra sensors and the laser. I love playing the Artillery role. As you can see its sooo much fun to just bring the pain to them BEHIND cover and kill them lol. I also have the extended range to 1200 meters. Sit in a pocket and fire at the red squares lol.

Hey, I have a suggestion for a build. Been trying the classic streak mad dog for a few days and I find it extremely hard to play. The lack of jumpjets makes positioning tricky, but the longer range gives it potential. Would be nice to see how you deal with the challenge! Keep doing great content, thanks.

Why bother with streaks over regular srms? Steaks hit all over the place, have terrible reload times and decent players know that doing ANYTHING to prevent you from locking up will ruin your day. light and ECM mechs must have your build for breakfast. Not saying its completly bad but I hope you carry a tsg and active prob. Streaks really suffer from RNG IMO. With Lrms if you put artemis on it the missles tend to go for the torsos over legs and having a secondary weapon setup can allow you to target the areas your missles open up instead of praying that at least a couple go to that cherry section you just opened up but 7/10 times if feels like they don't.😅

It's usually best to stick to one theme / engagement range and specialize your Mech for that. The difficult builds are the ones that try too many things at the same time. Managing different range brackets and firing groups is tough.

Always great to see someone properly LRMing and sharing armor. As for builds, I kinda wonder if you can make a double AC/20 + double Snub-PPC King Crab-0000 work. Sure it has ghost heat, but the 'mech is quirked to reduce AC/20 heat and I heard that snubs line up really well with ACs to give a lot of pinpoint damage. For a meme build: Any assault 'mech that can boat machine guns (your choice on any secondary weapons). :D

It's possible but not optimal. The most I've seen work is two different types of weapons for close and long range.

It's possible but it's not really good - most players simply won't manage more than maybe two different weapon types well so you'll have lots of times where you simply aren't shooting all your guns even though you need to. The best mixed build I've played is the Orion ON-1V with an AC/20, MRM40, and 2 medium lasers. Since it's starved for hardpoints and has poor geometry, it has huge quirks to compensate so it spits out tons of damage in a brawl rapidly. It's situational but it has its moments. The Vindicator VND-1X with an MRM40, 2 medium lasers, and 3 machine guns is also decent due to quirks.

Mad Cat IIC-1 with 2x LB10X + 4x MPL, Basically legend killer on roids. Also KGC-0000 with an AC/20, MRM 20 + MRM30, and 2 MPL. The King crab was my first really successful tanking build. fairly cool and scary as hell.

Raven 2L with 2 PPC and 2 ER Smalls I cant remember the engine size off hand but it is rocking a XL engine cause its a raven you lose your torso your dead anyways. Challenge build, I had a firestarter that I slapped a hvy gauss on with a super low rated engine and used it to escort annis, it was only 46kph but had armor and the movement of the light mech being so smooth and fast actually made it extremely accurate

You can sometimes even oneshot assault mechs that are just yellow cored in the center torso! (sadly i'm just a bit bad with my aim so i often shoot the right and left torso accidentally... XD)

View request! Nightgyr-C with original omnipods. 2 UAC10’s and 1 ERPPC. Has a 20% ballistic velocity quirk so the uac’s move almost as fast as the ERPPC. It also has some other handy quirks like energy range of 10% and torso mobility quirks. The jump jets come in handy for some poptart shenanigans. I prefer to have the ERPPC on the side torso for convergence but it makes it left stacked another option is to put the ERPPC on the right arm. 4-5 tons of ammo and the rest heatsinks. It’s also worth noting you can run the same build on the H variant with the addition of ECM and ballistic cooldown but I thought the ballistic velocity was so good.

ECM Archer with 2 Artimis, lrm 15s, 5 med lasers, 1 tag and whatever ammo/heat sink config you want. I usually use endo steel and a light engine. and sacrifice some armor from the legs and head and maybe a couple pooints from the arms.

Note I usually chainfire the lrms so not to expend as much ammo on missed locks. Is the dps a little lower because of this yes. But I carry 1000-1200 lrms and I usualy have enough to finish the game. Note I'm consistantly getting 700+ dmg games in this mech and 1000 dmg is not uncommon. I will take accel and decel nodes on the speed tree instead of any laser nodes. Also I forgot that I usualy do between 66-76 kph in this mech depending if I wabt to sacrifice some armor or not and you know you'll have built this right if you got no slots left on your mech.

Highlander 2c - 2 ultra 10s, 2-3 lrm 15s (if you want to use artimis or not will depend on the number of lrms), 2-3 er med lasers (if you want tag or not), tag, beagle or targeting computer or niether iits up to you, 60 kphis xl engine so NO JUMP JETS, (your plenty mobile),endo steel and as much ammo and heat sinks you can stuff in. I usually shave off some leg armor. The idea here is to stick in the middle of the pack blasting with chainfire lrms and using the auto canons. The med lasers are a backup weapon that you only use if your heat scale is ok. I'm a huge fan of artimis but on this build sometimes its just better to pound with more missles. Note I've tried lrm 20s on this build but the rate of fire is just too slow, Also you should chain fire your missles ALWAYS. It saves on missles and heat plus you constantly want to be scaring the crap out of the enemy with continues missle and auto canon fire. Your dps is not as important as the pucker factor the enemy mech gets when they are being contantly hammered. Note i'm getting constant 700 dmg games with this mech and I'm pretty sure I'm no even close to as good as you.

The snowball effect is built into the game's premise. Each time a team looses a mech they have less ability to destroying one of the opposing teams Mechs. Imagine if playing football each time you scored the opposing team lost a player.

I'm not sure if this would be considered a Challenge or a Troll build, but it could make for a few good clips on proper use of positioning. Do the LRM 100 Summoner. The only way to build this mech is with ZERO armor.

You haven't tried the MRM50 quarantine yet. Lots of JJs = poptarting, XL engine = fast, insane cooldown quirks = amazing dps and lots of armour equals lots of FUN!

Build idea? The best Timberwolf build right now. Great looking mech but mostly nerfed. Low slung arms are a pain so mine is LRM boat with 2 heavy lasers.

You can have an Urbie with an MRM 20 and a LRM 15. :3 Seems to work well for me.
