Was there in 2006. Elephants on the beach, chimpanzees, red river hogs. Amazing place. Ivindo even more amazing...but hard to get to.

In the Tarzan stories, Tarzan is supposed to have been born and bred in Gabon-in the same locale as what becomes Loango National Park.

They were lions back then around the savannah of the region of haut Ogooué but they have disappeared ...The last one was seen maybe 5 years from now by cameras in the region.
