A Turn for the Worse | WolfQuest: Ultimate Instinct #4

The Instinct pack already finds themselves in perilous circumstances.
Destiny, daughter of Maple and Midnight, sets out into the back woods of Slough Creek to form her own pack and start her own family. But she, like her mother, finds herself in a harsh and unforgiving world with only her instincts to guide her. In this challenge we are unable to use the map or HUD and must play by blind intuition, unable to see our health or stamina, identify the specifics of scents, know whose territory we're in, or see where our threats may be coming from. In the absence of the markers that we usually use to guide ourselves, we must trust our instincts and hope they lead us true.

I did my own version of this challenge while waiting for this episode. The only things I did differently were I played on accurate, I didn't use the map for anything (not even marking in the winter) and I had my music muted for most of it, so that the music change couldn't alert me to predators and I had to be observant instead. Unbelievably, I got ALL 7 Of my pups to the rendezvous site without a single death!

Oh and I also didn't use the pack menu at all to check food or health on my mate and pups. I briefly opened it to name the pups, but didn't check it at any other point. I also never used the map. I don't even know what my territory looks like on the map lol

A tip for you; if your pups wander off, you can either track their pawprints OR howl and they'll howl back. One of my pups wandered off and I immediately sent the others in the den, and was panicking because i couldn't tell which tracks were hers, but then just howled to her and she did it back,.and followed the sound to find her.

I ended up trying this challenge too, and actually quite liked it! I played on challenging and the only differences to what you are doing were that I didn't use the map even in the territory quest (except after sleep), and I allowed myself to check the pups' designations once when they were born and give them names that help me remember which pup is which (names related to their colors). It was hard, but actually easier than I thought when I got the hang of it. There were some scary moments like eagle attacks and when two pups got lost during a bear attack, but in the end only one pup died and that was of illness.

Enjoyed the bit of story/ insight into Destiny this eppisode! Yup the tiredness pop up doesn't always show. Names... well Fate needs to be one or the comments will riot 😅 The others... rune, tarot, Yormungander, weave, oath. Finnished my run in this vein. I used scent posts with 3 at a area where 3 hexes join then just tried to learn my route / landmarks. By the end i had it! No map needed. Somehow i had only 3 pups with a 3 star mate and youthful prowess so it was pretty easy compared to managing 5+ pups. Will say this it was harder to see my incoming mate with no name tag! Had to be much more attentive for predators approaching too.

You can still use your scent view to know which pup is in front or around you like a real wolf would lol. Could help to know if it’s the sick pup you are around

The scent view doesn't show identifiers with the HUD off. You can see the scent belongs to a wolf (through colour), but not which one

Hi, so I have a question unrelated to the video about wolfquest. So recently I’ve been shopping for a new computer so I can play this game, i played it on our old desktop apple computer for a few years, It was low quality and laggy but it worked.but the game became recently unplayable haha. Do you have any recommendations for a laptop/desktop computer that would work well with this game? I found one that I i know would work that’s cost around 1200$ but I would like to see if there’s a cheaper one before buying it, thx!

I used to have the same problem as you and recently bought a computer to run wolfquest, I have it for 6 months now and it has been working on wolfquest perfectly fine with highest quality and settings. It was at the price of at most $920, it's out of stock now however. The specs are relatively low to mid-end, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB graphics card, 16GB RAM, and AMD Ryzen 5 5500 with 6 cores 12th gen processor. This combination is cheaper than most and runs 50 fps with the highest settings.

Idk what for under 1200, but I own macOS, and it runs fantastic and up graphics,with no problems. I never had my game crash I never used fast graphics
