A Tutorial On How I Evade Missiles On Over G Fighters For The Xbox 360

Your method is good. Sometimes, when the missile is beside or in front of me, I will wait until it is barely about to hit me, then I will turn into it, popping flares and chaff. Works like a charm when it ISN'T behind you.

If you're flying toward an enemy formation sometimes it's a good tactic to go onto after burners and fly straight towards them as fast as you can. This only works if you have cover and can get close in before they see you, you have to fly low (150 - 200 ft) above the ground to exploit any cover. Once you're in with your sidewinders on full lock, you've got em.

evading missiles is about losing their track on you and/or making them lose their kinetic energy... but why only 45 degree? should've made it 90 degree... and actually making a low 180 degree u turn split S after the 45 degree evasion will not save you in more realistic situations because it actually make the missile easier to come to you if you really think about the flight path...

So I'm not crazy! This is an old comment, but I pondered this. I really wondered if I was doing myself some GOOD by doing that. Although it WORKED, I said, "... But the way a missile WOULD FLY..."

Different enemy jets have different responses - some make it very difficult to get close. I find the best way to attack enemy formations is to get up high 30,000 - 40,000 ft then switch to short range radar - once I'm close to the enemy, I just simply dive on them from directly above - this tactic decimates them. Depends on the jet though & the number & type of enemy.

Put my sensitivity setting very high - this gives me excellent maneuverability & control - you need it when you're trying to evade enemy medium to long range missiles.

surely theirs a less complicated version...ie can i break off left or right and does flare release timing matter? and dose the pilot i choose or plane have a effect? also does if matter if the after burner is on? cheers

short range radar is good for avoiding detection - but if you get caught out by a medium range missile when the enemy are still out of sidewinder range - you're stuffed !

They actually tell you, that if you got a Heat seeking missile on your tail: Slow down your speed = less heat from the engines, and better decoy effect from the flares ejected. If you got a radar guided missile on your tail: Speed up and make distance between you and the missile, and use chaff to confuse the incoming missile.

I dodge the heatseeking missiles even with afterburner and Flying away depends on the distance. In Multiplayer you need afterburner, because people spam you with missiles. If you turned it off, you lose to much speed wich reduce your turning speed and your ability to evade the missiles. U can see this in his clip, he lost agility. Hes nearly at the ground and cant decend to encrease speed. The best is also to fly at high altitude, within the specific fighteraltitude. You ve got always the upper hand, by being above your enemy.

Not bad Crow :) In your turn to take the baddy out you shoulda had had the cookers on to get your airspeed back up to best cornering speed 430ish. A note on the ship avoidance 500 and below is a no launch area for ships they wont even pop one off at you :) or alternatively 38,000+ is safe altitude above. Ooh and with good energy management the split-S can be done in the cat at about 4,000ft. Great video and good advice though :)

I actually tried an Immelman yesterday while loosing countermeasures and my plane got hit. Though I don't know if it was because it didn't work or my form was bad (I forgot to reduce thrust). After that when retrying the mission, as the missile approached, I dropped countermeasures, reduced thrust and banked sharply to the left... and it worked! :)

u wont regret it man. its pretty damn good. i play this game alot. missile dodging gets easy once u actually think about what ur doing and pending the situation. its SOOO REWARDING when you can dodge missiles left and right. i setmy self up on purpose and dodge all over. i only have trouble going guns. because the pad is just to sensitive for me.

The wingmen don't seem to shoot many enemy aircraft down or land targets. Am I doing something wrong...or are they just rubbish at hitting targets? Thanks.

It's an art. I've cursed the wingman out more than I can count. You have to really fly WITH him and alongside him for him to "listen" and be effective

You have to go to the menu, select file, go to settings and set flares to manual.

The medium range missiles are the worst - I find the short range missiles quiet easy. I have to get the timing just right with the medium range; to evade them I wait until the very last second before I turn - but I can't always see them. The other way is to simply out run them and fly low - I need speed to begin with to do this though - & some distance between between my jet & the incoming missile.

That would be awesome to have this on the Xbox One! Never have to worry about my 360 dying and can't play it. Unfortunately I don't think Ubisoft is going to do that. It got mediocre scores. Probably because it tried to be more sim than arcade which is why I love it so much! And Ubisoft abandoned it and made Hawx & Hawx 2 which are very arcade like. I wasn't crazy about those but I liked the amount of planes they had and if they could put those is Over G it would be amazing! We need more flight games that lean towards sim than arcade. I'd be thrilled with a Xbox One Microsoft Flight Simulator like on PC!

Switch your controls from Arcade to Simulation. Then you should have no problems controlling your aircraft.

@@MistorGator13 yes. I think hotspotting should be enough for u to play online, but that may eat up a lot of your data in your plan. That could be a huge drawback depending on the type of plan u have with ur phone.

Ah, I can make this work with F-15s and such, but the F-14 never wants to evade for me. Nice video though!

i know what u mean, its cause f-14s have g limiter and its at most 7gs at times pending on ur speed and hight. it usually shows u the max gs u can pull on bottom left on the jets hud. it will say for example: 5.2G , and stay there. it will only change based on ur speed on hight. so knowing ahead of time what u can pull u may have to delay a bit longer so when missle is near u wont pull too much too fast, but just when u need to.

I used a Hauppauge HD PVR2 GE PLUS for all my video game recordings. The video/audio feed goes out of my gaming system to the Hauppauge HD PVR2 GE PLUS then it's split to go to my tv and my computer where it is recorded.

Radar-guided missiles always gets me. I really don't think there's a way you can avoid SAAMs. I've tried every single trick to evade them. The best resolution is to get them first, but that's not always an option.
