Do you agree with the system I represented in this video when it comes to separating "Aerial family tricks" from "Butterfly family tricks"? I chose the represented takeoff inversion ranges both based on the practicality aspect: Dividing all the potential inversion options on the 180 degrees scale into 45 degree "slices" (example at 3:21) is easier than figuring out some other thresholds. These ranges also seem to be working out well when it comes to the actual tricks and their looks.

I like the intentions of this but I kind of feel like it's making a chicken out of a feather. The system of slices (in air inversion) is how I think most experienced trickers view the difference between butterfly and aerial tricks. When a trick is on the border, I don't think there's any need for debate, or to instead define the trick from takeoff upper body inversion. The trick is simply inbetween a and b and it's fine to call it that. Back in the days people argued in the same manner about gainer fulls and corks (10+ years ago), but since long the term 'gainer full' is outdated and actually redundant (at least in the tricking community). People simply call them corks which can be more or less inverted. Maybe we'll see the same terminology development in the future where there's simply an aerial or butterfly family, which are more or less inverted. Again though, great series - keep doing them. It's food for thought, engaging and fun!

@@JonatanPetersson Yeah I agree with you a lot! I mean this series is mainly meant to get people think by themselves and understand the techniques and their differences better. Whether something is this or that is kinda irrelevant I agree, but I wanna see what are the separating factors and why. Also for me it's fun to get into analysing these topics, dive deeper into them and then share what I found out and thought at the moment.

So an A-twist is just an inverted btwist? Would be be better to approach cork with an a twist than a b twist
@johzuke13 жыл бұрын
Yes and I learned both of these after cork personally. Would say B-twist has more cork feel than A-twist.
@lukegray55583 жыл бұрын
@@johzuke1 thanks bro. It seems the exit of A twist is similar to the exit of cork. Because of the invertion. Am I wrong?
@johzuke13 жыл бұрын
Well corks don't necessarily need inversion so not always.

Ariel twist is harder to learn and to perform, but b twist looks much better and easier to do, it seems like you a twisting way more , while on a twist it looks only 180 spin

Flip = 360 but in different axis

I think I just learned to cart full but my take off looks more like an A-twist. I posted a vid of it to my channel, I'd really appreciate any feedback.

That means you are jumping from one leg, try to jump with two legs at first even do so straight 360 spins to get the feeling
