So, a typical house in the US has a lounge with a dancing pole. I learned something new today.
@DinaMild9 жыл бұрын
+MrChofee Well, a dancing pole is not a very typical thing, I agree))
@55robinwood9 жыл бұрын
+MrChofee Not really.. The average American house has 4br, 2 or 4 baths, kitchen, living room, family room kitchen, dining room and two car garage...around 2500 square feet. The house show is a typical college student or someone very young. Not the sort pf house a normal family lives in.

This is so not a typical American house. Well, maybe its typical for California but where I am on the other side of the country in Virginia I think people value a large yard and a front porch swing way more than a lounge and a swimming pool.where I live most people live in old farm houses with at least 10 acres of land. I guess its all in where you live in the country and it is a very large country.

I can’t believe people are willing to live like this, for that amount of money. I’ve lived in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Connecticut, New York, Georgia, Toronto and Ottawa Canada , Pennsylvania, Chicago, and Utah. Most housing is far superior to this. There are different standards. Utah housing is more expensive than most and everything is fake. $800,000 and none of the crown molding, baseboards or doors are wood. They are all pressed particulate. NONE of the Utah cupboards or closets have wood inside

I live in America. This isn't typical at all. Average is three bedrooms, maybe four, if there is a larger family, and two or three bathroom. There is a living room, maybe a "den" or "family room" one of those will most likely have a tv both of these will have couches, coffee tables, and maybe a chair or two, and some homes have fireplaces, but not all do. Older homes are more likely. There is a kitchen with a stove top and oven, a sink, full sized refrigerator, most likely a dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. There maybe a separate dining room, but if there isn't, there is still a dining room table, and chairs, usually four or more. Bathrooms have a toilet, sink, and either a shower, or a bath/shower combo. There maybe an office with a desk and computer, or just a desk somewhere with a computer. Bedrooms each have a bed with a nightstand or two, a dresser, and usually, for adults or teens, a TV. Sometimes even for older children. About half of homes, if not more have a garage.
@DinaMild9 жыл бұрын
+Sara Lockhart almost everything you've listed above is in this house. But it's more about family house. This one belongs to a young single man, so there can be differences.
@saralockhart80389 жыл бұрын
+Dina Mild typical is defined as what is the most common. I just don't like the stereotype that people from some other countries have about Americans, and one's home can be very telling. A small percentage of American homes have a bar, or a stripper pole. Pools are also rare. I just don't want to perpetuate a bad stereotype of any group if it can be helped.

I love the outside structure of the house, it looks very beautiful with the green space and the trees, but I’m not sure about the inside. It might be because I grow up in Saudi Arabia where houses are bigger and that and the average distance is 400m2. But unfortunately about 40% of the house distance is dedicated for sitting rooms for guests and they’re not used regularly.

I live in the city next to Downey called Norwalk. These are the typical homes in the area that were built in the 1940's through 1950's. A lot of these homes were expanded by adding an additional rooms mostly 2nd floor rooms since these homes were only one story. The great housing boom started in the 1970's in the southern area heading towards San Diego california. Cities like Mission Viejo, Irvine, Tustin, El Toro...etc. BTW, the dancing pole is not part of the building plan of an American house. If your young and throw alot of parties in your house then you can have a dancing pole for all the drunk ladies who want to show their talent. Also Richard Carpenter of the singing duos of the 70's "The Carpenters" lives in Downey.

This really isn't a typical American home at all. The dead giveaway was the first shot of the yard Americans typically take care of their yards. Also I think most Americans decorate their homes. This house seems more like a mishmash of stuff. I do think there are some Regional differences I live on Cape Cod and people do a lot of white and blue beige most of our houses are clapboard. I lived in Virginia recently for a short while and there are a lot more brick houses there and many of them were mid-century Style. Inside people's homes they were more Antiques etc.. and re-used things.

American here, this house is a good example of a "regular American home". Some people may say this is low class but it's not, it's right in the middle class. A teacher, police officer, software developer would buy a house like this. Although the teacher or cop might have a tight budget to afford the payments. So yes, this is the average American house.

MISLEADING VIDEO. I've been seeing this video being reacted to, and that sucks because *this is not a "typical" house or home at all.* This is the house of a young, single man, with no dependents, with a very good income (or rich parents), who has customized a whole bunch of stuff in the house (not cheap to do), and rents out the rooms. From the looks of it, this is what we'd call a "party house", basically. Maybe a "bachelor pad". It is in no way "typical" in the USA (or Canada, since I'm Canadian).

New York and San Francisco most expensive cities. Renting the one room flat in San Francisco about $2500.00 per month. A house in new York city $ 5,000.00-$7,000.00 or more per month. A house in rural new York state, far from city is about $3,000.00 or more per month. Much cheaper to rent out of city. Other states much cheaper. I have house 10 minutes from ocean in Florida. 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, big garage, big front and back grass yard with no crime. It's a big house near the beach and I pay $1000 per month. This house would cost $6000 -$8000 in new York per month. Also a cheapest house in San Francisco is over one million us dollars!
