Malena (I've probably spelled that incorrectly and I apologize if so) has such great screen presence and a very engaging personality. I can see what the regular consumption of olive oil has done for her and her mum - they are both glowing with health and beauty. I love the accent too! 😊 I have throughly enjoyed learning about what a typical day of eating in Spain looks like and would love to one day travel there to partake of some myself. Thanks for the awesome video. On this alone, I have subscribed.

I love these eat in a day from the Meditteranean countries. They eat simple, unrefined real whole foods. Most from gardens or local farms. With the Spain one I am curious if they have high blood pressure/heart disease, diabetes etc. I am Puertorican and our food is mainly Spanish food but we are plagued with these diseases and I want to know what is the true diff between the Puerto Rican diet and Spanish. I do know we fry everything and I think we over eat meat. Also most families are not picky about the oil and ALOT of canola, vegetable and corn oil is used.

My question is ,there seem to be lots of calories in the meals. Why is no one fat? Lol. Is it because you don't snack, or because you eat small portions, or get more exercise? Help? :)
@rosab80262 жыл бұрын

There is something about the lack of processing and their foods. And the fact that they walk a lot. I can eat over there and lose weight or maintain while eating things that I could never eat here. And to be honest, they eat more. There is bread with tomato as she showed you and coffee in the morning. At 11 they might sneak out of work and run to the Corner Bar for a coffee and something to Nosh on, maybe a piece of this Spanish tortilla that she just made for dinner. Then you have lunch, as you saw here, the paella. It's their largest meal of the day. They have a break in some cities between 2 and 5 to go home, eat lunch, and digest, maybe a 20-minute nap. At 5 or 5:30, they can head out to the Corner Bar and grab a beer or a coffee and a little something to Nosh on, and some people go back to work until about 8 at night. Then, you go home and make dinner, which could appear on the table anywhere from 10 p.m. until midnight.

@@LindaC616 I jut don't get it. I don't eat that much and I am overweight and trying to lose weight! Interesting, thank you!
@LindaC616 Жыл бұрын
@@Selahsmum I know. Many times, I have gone abroad and lost weight, only to come home and try to replicate the diet at home and find that I'm not losing weight. It has a lot to do with the activity level, but I think there's also a lot of preservatives in our food that don't exist over there. It's hard to find fresh bread here as you can get over there. We simply don't have time in our lives to run to the bakery everyday. Also, I live alone, so that Brad would go bad if I bought it everyday. And it's not as cheap to do so here as it is over there. And then simple things like yogurt, milk, cereal, they all have preservatives that don't exist over there. I also think the slower pace of life has to help somewhat, because maybe we're not as stressed so we don't produce as much cholesterol and stress hormones
