So when you time your car use a vacuum gauge. then set the initial timing to the highest vacuum reading shut the car off then see if the starter drags. if it does, back it off 2 degrees. if not then look at what it is and then add the mechanical advance to it to get the correct total timing. and advance it all buy 2500 RPM. you wont know how much mechanical you need unless you take it to a dyno or a track. all engines are a little different. car will put you in the back seat.

Preciate that advice! I will try it. I have vacuum gauges but found it hard to read since the cam causes inconsistencies

@@dslyfe yeah. Have you tried full vacuum ports? It'll be jumpy but try to catch the highest reading
