I'm a trainee and we are just hitting graduated bobs. Very impressed with your take on this cut. I really like the video, easy to follow and the result is clean and precise. Also, it was so relaxing listening to you. Thank you!

Jesse: I absolutely LOVE this dude. Sam, you knocked it out of the hairdresser park adding him to your artistic team; wonderful teacher, born to teach!🦄👍

I appreciate your take on this cut. I’m in cosmetology class and the technique I’m learning is different. This method eliminates the tendency to drift or waver causing that weight. Maybe when I graduate, I’ll get to use this technique! Thanks for sharing! 💇🏻♀️

Hi, I'm not a hairdresser, but have recently discovered Sam and he is wonderful, such an informed, educated, patient teacher. First time seeing Jesse and what a lovely guy, very calming when he speaks and teaches well too. I love the inverted bob though, wish you guys could do my hair, I shall dream for one day 😍

Hello, I am a Barber/Stylnig student and my question is since your taking 90 degree angles wouldn't this be a uniform layered cut and not graduated?

How many sections did you start with? Four or five?
@samvillahair4 жыл бұрын
at about 1:12 you can kind of see the first areas he sectioned. There are 4 areas. Divide at center, then at an area we call the horizontal transition which is where the back of the head changes shape and becomes more of the profile :-)

When i was in cosmetology school i always cut my skin toward the palm. You make it look so effortless, can you guess what i was doing wrong when cutting?

Are you cutting pass your second knuckle? It’s a rule of thumb not to cut past second knuckle:)

Extending past the guide? Not a good idea. Instead of 90 degrees cut it to 45 degrees. U can always soften the weight line afterwards.
@KHR327fan4 жыл бұрын
he's extending slightly beyond the guide as the elevation is 90° in relation to the headshape. it's not enough to create disconnection but its important to as the graduation is being done horizontally. the elevation of 90 keeps this cut seamless without a harsh weight line to blend afterwards. extending the cutting line slightly beyond the guide ensures that the vertical shape is triangular therefore building graduation.

great explanation Jessica!

Thats definitely one approach. This is just another option and will create a softer finish. We believe we should share as many options as possible and each hairdresser can discover what works best for them and their clientele... no good/bad right/wrong :-) Totally respect your opinions though!

Not everyone sees things the same way as you... its okay to have different ways of doing the same thing. If the original way works for you awesome! If this way helps just 1 stylist then that's awesome too!
